I’m also thinking of the two ladies who won $1,000, then in the spin-off both won $10,000…stories like those from former contestants - and of course, a memoriam for Johnny and Rod.

Yes it is one of the greatest game show moments ever and what keeps us coming back for more. TPIR was the best for moments like these. I see people ripping Bob on this thread and it's not fair at all. His job is to milk some time, create suspense and bring out the humanity of the contestant while adding humor if possible. He sure succeeded here. I like to focus on the second he saw the $10000 card when he realized what a moment that was. He only milked slightly before slamming it home. There were 2 $10000 cards and 3 $5000 cards in the whole board. At that time, $10000 was the maximum prize. This happened on 1/26/96.

Drew would just say the amount multiple times with no drama, then sound like he’d rather be anywhere else. Bob actually cared.

Bob liked to play deadpan humor that got annoying. Drew just goes with it!

Drew just doesn’t care. He looks bored most of the time, only thinking about the giant checks he’s receiving for poor hosting.

JD Shadow - Drew took over in ‘07 and fun to watch. Now, not so sure. The novelty of it wire off quick for him. When something crazy happens, then he gets funny again. Three contestants each got $1.00 on a Showcase Showdown one year. He went bananas!!!!

He said it so fast but love it he said "audience dont be afraid of the dark. I'm going for it". THAT is what balls n courage look like folks! Love it. Love Bob to I grew up watching him. Usually alone. He made me feel less alone somehow. His spirit.
