Dracula is not actually based off Vlad the Impaler like people think... Dracula actually has an interesting history and they kinda say this in the making of this video how they thought this too until they did lots of research on it. Dracula started it roots from people being very superstitious about diseases and death. But look into it bc it's very interesting. I'm so happy to have found your guys channel tho!

The full story about Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) if anyones interested. Muhammad al Fatih the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire started to conquer the countries of south europe. Bosnia, Serbia, Hungary and so on. The people of walachia (todays south romania) fought back but they were losing so they concluded an agreement with the Muslims. A part of this agreement was that the ruler of walachia had to send his 2 sons to Istanbul (constantinople) so they learn the islamic culture. The 2 sons were called Vlad and Radu. Later Vlad himself Dracula which means Son of Dracul which was their fathers name. And Dracul means Demon or Devil. So the 2 brothers lived in Istanbul. Got education for years and Radu even became a Muslim. He converted to Islam. He learned Quran and studied. Even Vlad learned the Quran even tho he wasnt a Muslim. He learned arabic, persian and turkish. Later Radu stayed in Istanbul and Vlad was sent back to Romania to rule his country, because the Ottoman Empire knew they couldnt send a Muslim to rule a christian country with mostly or everyone being christian citizens. So they sent Vlad. They could beat him in fight and take over his country easier that way. But Vlad wasnt ready to submit to the Sultan. The Sultan sent 2 messengers and they demanded a poll tox from Vlad. Vlad responded with: When you step in through my door you must take of your turban!" They refused and simply said: "We wont take off our turbans for you." So Vlad called for his guards and said: "If they wont take off their turbans for me then they shall never take them off!" and let their Turbans get nailed on their heads and sent their heads to his brother the Sultan with a letter saying: "I wont let you force your culture on me". This murder was a declaration of war. Vlad decied to fight against the Ottoman Empire. So Muhammad al Fatih sent a great army to defeat Dracula. But Dracula knew the Ottoman Empire very well and he had unscrupulous tactics. He managed to defeat the islamic army at some places. His tactics were right out devilish. Lighting his own farms and stuff on fire and poisining the wells so they get sick if they drank from it were tactics which pale in comparison to other things Vlad did. Vlad didnt just kill his enemies. He made prisoners and let them get impaled. the act of impaling is a method he got from christians as far as I know. He shoved the big stick/pale in the butt of the victims. So deep that it goes all they way through the body, sticking out of the mouth. He impaled many of them while they were still alive. After he let the Muslim soldiers be impaled like that, he placed them on the streets in a row. Making a line of impaled corpses. When the Ottoman army came to look for their troops they found 20.000 Muslims impaled along the capital street. Muhammad al Fatig saw 20.000 of his men being killed in the most brutal and shameful way. So he sent Radu to fight Dracula. He sent Draculas own brother to kill him. Maybe he could defeat him. That was after Dracula already had a reputation of being brutal and not holding back, not having limits. Even some Christians turned their back on him. He was Romanian. Orthodox christian. But he wrote to the pope: "If you send me more troops, I will become catholic for you!" He does whatever is needed and leaves his religion. He had no true belief or religion to begin with. For him only bing pragmatic in battlefiel was the only thing that mattered and and important. So his own people left him. At the end the Muslims won but its not clear if a Muslim or someone else killed him. But he was killed. The Ottoman Empire killed this Tyrant. He was beheaded and his head was sent to Istanbul, which then got impaled on a very long pale (stick). It was placed infront of the gates of Istanbul. Hanging there for months as an example.

He didn't just eat people. He once staked an entire army of 20 thousand around his home country. There were accounts of rivers of blood that acted as a mote for his castle and country. He wasn't a bad man, he was protective of his people. Considering he was enslaved and tortured and raped by the ottomans you would be a little protective as well. Vlad Tepes Dracula of Wallachia (son of dracul his father whose name meant son of the dragon/devil) his name Dracula was then adapted to mean spawn/son of the devil. People believed he made a pact with the devil for an immortal life (he apparently never got sick, and lived to be very old) and immeasurable strength (he was said to be able to take a siege stake (roughly 20 feet long and about 2 feet wide) and run it through 5 men and then shove the stake into the ground while they dangled from the end of it. But he did absolutely stake people up around his county and castle and it looked like a forest of corpses that bled a river of blood down hill.
