22:12 im not a huge chevrolet guy, but this Nova caused my jaw to drop. I mean everyone likes Nova's but this one is next level. Not even in the same world, but do kinda regret selling a clean 1973 wrong year nova ss from Kentucky. Actually didnt sell, instead i traded it for a Jetboat with a 455 Olds, which IS my brand of choice. This is for you Finn, and all you jetboat lovers out there.. Twas a 1973 Wrighdt Stinger (i may have spelled that wrong but remember it did have a D in the name. Also said Norwalk Cali on the chrome nameplates) 17ft with the Same exact set of over the transom Bassett chrome headers as Mazdaratti (still shedding tears and carry anger towards those who stole that project), a berkeley non droop output with the winters shifter looking "jet-a-vator" control and a stock 455 with a car oil pan. As an Olds guy i can tell anyone who hates 455 oldsmobiles because of bad experiences in a jetboat....You MUST repeat MUST run the moroso flat bottom 10qt oil pan to make it live. Repeat again...MUST. Anyway i shoved a 9.9:1 trw piston shortblock with box stock Edelbrock heads and a hyd flat tappet that had a good lump (.575/.575 and 250/255@.050 custom Lunati grind) harland sharps, holley street dominator and an old BG modded 850 annular. This engine had just ran 11.80s in my 3700lb 1970 442 so it made a hair over 500 on the pretend engine dyno. The jetboat went 80.8mph via gps. Ran side by side with a friends efi 502 bbc gutted jetboat with 4 plastic racing buckets which i thought was a very cool look. However the boat was Ratty. It floated and it hauled tail but was Rough, note the capitol R. After almost 10 years i got old and got kinda scared of the wild jetboat ride. A good friend wanted it minus engine. He spent 5 years doing a resto and paint. He used my idea and went red white and blue with stars and stripes theme. His much more mild combo 455 went 65mph (through the same aa impeller it had all along). Here is the sad story part.. One sad day, my friends garage went up in flames within 2 min and burned down including several collector car projects...a convertible 1968 442 (which caused the fire), 1965 coronet, 47 Chevrolet, a nash metro, a classic tractor, and at least 4 other vehicles i cannot remember at the moment. The boat melted into a blob. I had recently sold my polished offy tunnel ram for big block olds which was on the boat engine at the time. Even the intake melted and drooped. Hold on, im wiping tears RN... Ok back. Thankfully insurance paid for my friend to build a huge 60x40 i believe (?) Pole barn concrete floor freaking garage palace. My friend also got a really decent promotion and has been able to rebuild a stable of classics race cars bikes and boats. Amen. If you read this far you can tell that im stuck at home alone and talk too much. But that Nova, tho......

It is where they did this year's Street Outlaws Memphis' National shootout this Spring. They want to do it again next year. I am actually watching this season on MotorrTrend.

The tote idea is a good one, made better by the list of contents. You should have the list of contents at each box when you are loading up. As a next item is added, add that to the list. If you have a laminator that can do full pages, laminate the contents list. That way, when you use something from in the box, you can use a sharpie or other felt marker to cross off the item used, and keep the inventory list up to date. This way when something is used up you don't spend hours digging through everything " 'cause you know it's in here somewhere" and don't know it's gone. Being able to edit your inventory as it changes could be quite helpful.

They now make heat shrink butt connectors that are NOT crimp connectors, they have low temp solder inside. So when you put your wires in and hit it with the heat gun, it solders the wires together and insulates them!

Pro Tip: Go to Harbor Fraud and buy a box of Marine (Adhesive Lined) Shrink Tube, 67598. Comes in an assortment of sizes, (black only). Use colored shrink tube for over the top ID, or color coordinating purposes, ONLY. Seal ALL your wire connections, you'll be glad you did. Makes it waterproof, and also helps with vibration-related wiring failure. GeoD

Hey Finnegan, have you met Tommy Thompson, aka Mr. Drag boat racing? Thompson, 72, owns a boat in each of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series' five pro divisions. He also helps at least 10 other boat teams with support, financial or parts. He is a Tulsa Business Man, and has his race headquarters about an HR east of Tulsa Oklahoma. Those connectors I used everyday but I ditched the heat gun. Bout a little propane touch so I didnt need to run extension cords. Save a buttload of time and headaches.

Big red truck,....THE BRICK here a hint for those that go to races, camping, fishing, etc.... Start a file in your phone, on your computer, a list of what you need to bring. as you accumulate trips, you can add or subtract thing you do or don't need. and you can just print out everytime for a trip and check off the items as you load guy I used to work with had that same era Suburban, but had 3/4 ton 4x4 axles and springs, we called it the lunch box, everyone would pile in at lunchtime on the jobsite
