@@erbartlett I was mid process of a tethered launch and got distracted by a loose harness strap. Ended up steering my kite up before I had hooked in! Doh. Luckily super light wind so able to recover without incident.

Some folks release their chicken-loop as they wind the lines or put the bar down at the end of every session, this means that before you start the next one you have to reload it.

I usually clip in, release, then clip in again just to be sure its working, but I didn't do that this time. I hadn't been out in over a month because I had surgery, and it was the first really windy day with some sun :) I'll definitely go back to doing my safety check each time.

where did you tie the gopro and how did you do it? very smart

Are you asking about the POV or the linemount footage? I use a mouth mount (gopro brand) and I use a line mount from mentese labs (they seem to have gone out of business). The line mount I put in my lines above the high Y, and the lines just thread through the mount.
