Nice result. A couple of pointers 1. Wood always to one side or the other. Never opposite the opening (ie. the rear). The flame must rise up and cross the dome to cook the pizza. 2. Only cook pizza when the wood is ablaze, never when there's only glowing embers. 3. Oven temperature should be around 450°c and the pizza cooked in 60 to 90 secs turning it 180° half way through.

WONDERFUL! Certainly, that's much too much for Hubby & me these days, but watching is all so enjoyable. I have no clue how I found all of this, but now both Hubby and I are watching your channel. We're definitely very cool - having grown up in the 60's - and we have a few compliments to send your way. Corny, I know, but heartfelt nevertheless. This is the retired lady who watched with such glee your patio-fire pit videos. I'm also the Mom of 4 sons and Yiayia to 4 grandsons, and I must say, you BROS are extremely talented, great fun, and especially well-mannered. Someone should be quite proud. The pizza looked scrumptious. Literally > well done!!

I like the vibe of the phrase "Bros not Pros." It encourages people to DIY and have fun with the bros, because it is what matters more than the end itself. It resonates with me because I always wanted to DIY since I was very young, but was discouraged from doing so because I'm not a "Pro."

Good build. Left me with a couple of questions though. 1. Could one use a slab of granite or marble for the bottom instead of the cement with fire bricks? It would appear to be the easier way to go to mee. 2. Doesn't rain become a problem with this oven out in the open weather? I mean especially with that insulation layer it would seem prone to moisture buildup causing cracking. 3. Can you use just Portland cement for the outer layer since it's not going to get very hot? Nice video guys!
@BroBuilds2 жыл бұрын
You could use a slab of almost anything to support the fire bricks. I just wouldn't replace the bricks themselves because they're made to retain and release heat longer and more evenly to help with cooking. As for the rain, we don't get a ton here in Idaho, but some small cracking is expected. It shouldn't be structural, and I wouldn't recommend just using Portland cement, because I THINK that would cause more. The mixture we used is meant to allow some moisture and breathability (as far as I understand it) and this insulation is also made to deal with some moisture as well.
@jeffreygeorge2192 жыл бұрын
Nice man, once the fire bricks mature, they will take on a different taste and it really will taste like you are in Italy.. 20 to 30 Burns on those bricks and its go time... Use a lil corn meal on the Pizza Peel. *It slides right off puttin into oven and the taste on bottom of pizza is ridiculously good*..
