I have this on my computer. He shows so much on his face in what is actually about 11 seconds, and it's intense. Had no idea he was dealing with cancer, and I felt my heart drop in my chest when I read that he'd die. An awesome actor with a career truly worth celebrating. Well done, Alan Rickman. What was so remarkable about Alan Rickman was his ability to be completely still yet fluid in his presence and body movement. Here he demonstrates an incredible intensity that is at odds with his composed demeanour throughout. He was completely comfortable with himself as a human being. That really resonates on screen. Ah yes it is indeed the improper way to make tea. The just off of the boil water goes on the tea bag not the teabag in the stationary and slightly cooled water. You don't get the right infusion. Also lemon is a classic way to serve tea. Milk and (eww why ruin it) sugar is a now common but not classic way to drink tea. I must say I was somewhat relieved that he threw it away. RIP Alan

That wasn't just tea time with Alan Rickman. That was a actor's masterclass in body control and displaying emotion. When I heard Rickman and Bowie had died, I realized that my time was coming, too.

If I were to ever be asked for an example of a not-intended-to-be masterclass level of media, this would definitely be the first one given. Fairly granted, most (or, rather, any, in my opinion) of this man’s work would be first on such a list. That said, I will forever be thankful for this man’s existence and the wonderful ways he touched the hearts of all who truly knew him, and of those of us who knew him through the art he gifted to us and left us with. I remember the morning my phone pinged with the notification of his passing and, even though I was right on the verge of falling asleep, I just... started sobbing. It was the from-the-depths-of-my-heart screams (I’m just relieved they weren’t shrieks) that startled my housemates awake and, thankfully, we all shared that moment of grief. If nothing else, I can honestly say that I miss you, sir. It will forever be shown in the single word I now say with respect and honor. To you. Always.
