Good video mate. It's obvious you are far more than a Carp Angler and it is really good to see you targetting other species. One of my favourite ways to fish is trotting a float, just catching small fish. Going after big fish is great fun, but there is a lot more to angling. Tight lines

I think you handled that situation as well as you possibly could have done Joe, BUT I feel I need to defend the lady a little bit. I've been pike fishing on the levels for nearly 40 years, including that drain and that particular area by the pumping station (along with the Brue at the back of the station), although I haven't been since before covid, and she is one of the residents around there. She's quite right, the land is private and that drain is only fishable on the Bridgwater and Glaston Manor club tickets. Admittedly she could have handled the situation better on her side, but you need to bear in mind that all of the landowners around there, particularly on that drain because it's so off the grid (I don't think I've EVER seen a club bailiff walking along there in the 40 years I've been fishing it), have had to put up with literally decades of people illegally fishing and taking pike for the table. Obviously you weren't there to do that Joe, but from her point of view she wouldn't have known that, she just saw you as another person fishing it illegally. But she's normally very friendly and chatty - I've bumped into her on numerous occasions and she's told me lots about the history of the area and the pumping station - and she's also something of a local hero to the regular anglers down there because she's almost single-handedly been the only person policing those banks. I've personally seen her square up to three burly eastern European chaps who had a keepnet full of jacks and that resulted in the police being called out. Tl;dr version - you handled the situation correctly, she didnt't and she certainly shouldn't have grabbed your equipment, BUT there's a lot behind the way she handled it. Reasons rather than an excuse. From memory I think there are only two or three drains around there which are free fishing, or partially free fishing, but it's so difficult finding any information about them you kind of take a gamble.

She wasn't in the wrong IMO, she had every right to eject you from her land however she wanted and she wasnt violent and didn't seem to intend to damage any of your equipement, just trying to get you off her land. She hasn't got the right to eject him from her land however she wanted. As a trespasser as long you agree to leave you get to pick in which direction you leave. Trespass is ridiculous anyway that's why I go where I want. Nobody gets harmed and I get to enjoy the beautiful countryside of my country.

I think you're incredibly wrong here, yes she has the right to move him off, he made a mistake, wasn't taking any fish and was incredibly polite and calm, you can not grab and throw people's property without intending to damage his kit!
