Took me 6 years to catch a >10lb canal Zander and I must admit I shed a tear when I caught one 😢. What a fish 👍 and the others in the series well deserved, effort = reward

Got say, as a match angler this channel has certainly captured me. The contrast between this style of pike fishing, and the one we mainly do over here in Scandinavia is so huge. Most of our big pikes, at least nowadays, comes from pelagic trolling or lure fishing in big clear water lakes. (well, down south i guess the "bri'ish" style is used a bit more). I guess this diversity is one of the reasons this species is so popular all over the world. Big pikes are truly stunning creatures.

I’m a Lincolnshire lad, grew up spinning on the fens with my father, had some cracking times (I’m now 30) and the years went by the fish slowly seemed to go down in numbers. Keep meaning to get back into it more so now !

This got me emotional! Fantastic skills, work, endurance, tenacity, and ability to come back from failure, time and time again . Well done!! Some people will never understand the reasons. The goal doesn't matter, that is for you to choose, it could be money for some greedy people it could be boxing, it could be science. The point is, you did your best, improving with each failed season, and carried on until you did what others will never do!
