I lived in Port Townsend for 7 years...Port Townsend has two streets that run thru town...the one your on takes you thru town then there is a up town street ... If you pay attention to the Tides Hotel, the single story rooms...one of the room is the exact room that Officer and a Gentleman was filmed as well as the Military housing. The water area is THE PUDGET SOUND...NOT QUITE THE OCEAN, from the Tides you look across to Whidby Island where the Naval Base is. In Port Townsend there is STILL A LAW ON THE BOOKS that is NO SPITTING ON THE SIDE WALKS and has been a LAW sense the 18 hundreds, they made the LAW because it was a sea Port and women in their BIG LONG DRESSES that would drag on the sidewalks SO THE LAW WAS MADE so their dresses would not drag thru spit ;) Seriously!!! If you went to the end of town where there is boat docks across that water way you are looking over to Canada. But Port Townsend had a Few Movies made there and the Fairies...one was Officer and a Gentleman, the movie with J-LO ENOUGH, Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman made the movie where her husband faked his death and went to New Orleans. Yep all partially filmed on Port Townsend

Epic bridge! Not the galloping Gertie of the past. I love seeing pictures of my home state. So beautiful. I know my parents have been over that bridge, as they were planning to return to WA and retire in Port Townsend. Having a bunch of grandchildren in So. Calif changed their minds. But WA will always be home to our family.

I drive a white Kia Soul and am pretty sure that you're seeing me at 3:22 haha. I only say this because you actually drive past my home street on the way to downtown! The Bayview is so bleh compared to the rest of our food. If you want a good experience, go to Sirens, Docs, Waterfront, Alchemy, Quench, Tommy Knockers, Silverwater, Banana leaf, Golden Ocean, Fiesta etc... We are so rich with food here! Super glad you checked out Soak On The Sound, it's our hidden therapy here in PT. I feel my Washington off-season depression drift away every time I book a pool. One more comment: the land you see straight our your hotel room is Indian Island, which is a munitions storage. All aircraft carriers, ships and nuclear subs stop before entering the Puget Sound and everything from food to bombs comes off there. They stop when departing for reloading.
