I have never seen a home with a lagoon like that. How cool one of the Flippers was trained here.At 60 I can barely remember watching it as I was 4 when it went off the air. I would love to know more about the history of the lagoon and house.

Man. I’m just going to quit guessing on home values in the Keys. I kept building and building value and was around 1.3 Million when you said. $3M. I was expecting that little fixer upper a few weeks back to be $500k, but you surprised me again with I think it was $349k. Anyways. That’s a nice home. Fantastic mother in law “casita.” But $3M is well beyond my budget. 😎

Lmao❤ GL w appraisal value. APPRAISERS ARE getting national memos (emails, meetings, etc) SO , GL. W price 😊 nationally homes won't appraise over 3 percent yrly. Fact check me. BANKS HAVE CONTROL, gov , has appraisers deadlocked. SO 2007 NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. regardless of what zillow redfin etc. Says it's worth. APPRAISAL VALUES ARE INSTRUCTURED TO ONLY USE 3 TO 5 PERCENT YRLY SINCE ONWERSHIP. ❤ GL FOLKS

question...With the "projections" about sea levels rising, do you have any historical information or future advice about the keys shrinking or going underwater? Is or will keys real estate be lost to ocean rise?

Of course we see the same "projections" everyone sees, and I would say it is of concern, but for us anyway, our priority is more on enjoying life to the fullest whenever and wherever we can right now. So this is where we choose. We know the Keys are not for everyone, and I would never make any projections about sea level rise personally...just not my area of expertise. I would say, however, that if that is a legitimate concern for you, the Keys may not be the right spot...as we are merely feet above sea level and always have been. Taxes would be 10-15k MAX and about the same for insurance.

Can the lagoon be opened up in to a boat basin?

I doubt it. The property also includes a few hundred feet of bay bottom so you could add dockage if needed.
