I'm a huge fan of EPIC and have been listening since the beginning of this year, but I'm also a huge fan of HOMER and The Odyssey and also I teach it... and they're not the same thing.
So, here's a detailed explanation of the differences between EPIC and The Odyssey - the Troy Saga - which also thinks about why the changes have been made for EPIC and which should also teach you some stuff about the Odyssey too.
