Thanks Dave, glad you liked it. It'd be a bit tough to spray with a 2.5L bottle, so we have launched with an Autoglym branded pump up sprayer you can pour it into. Thanks for the review! Mark

Hope you see this autoglym I have been using your products for detailing for years and I love the standard of quality. I have a product suggestion, I want an all-in-one decontamination spray that is a fallout remover, tar remover, and water spot remover. I feel this would be a favourite amongst your customers for ease of use and cutting down precious time like some of your other multi-ingredient products do
@AutoglymUK8 ай бұрын
@@ItsMeYourRealDad Hi Dad, great to meet you at last ;-) Thanks for the suggestion, that does sound like a useful product - however chemically you would have an awful lot going on in there that would all have to get along happily - each of those tasks needs a different approach (at least if you want to go down the bleeding fallout remover route) - I fear you would compromise the speed of tar break down and the efficiency of a fallout remover and water spot remover if you tried to get one thing to do all three. For instance, the great thing about a dedicated tar remover is you can pack it full of solvent which is one of the active ingredients that breaks the bond between the tar and the paint. If you also wanted that to be a fallout remover, which are water based, you would need to give over some of the formulation to water by removing a % of solvent which would make that part of the product less effective at tar removal. Similarly, you would have to allow a % of the formulation to be solvent in a water based fallout remover formulation, again, reducing the amount of active ingredient space you have for it to work. It probably would be possible to Frankenstein something together, but not something we'd be happy to put out as an Autoglym product, I think in this instance a dedicated product for each of the tasks you mentioned is better overall. That is not to say that multipurpose products do not have their place, we do several - it is just the range of tasks you mentioned would be hard to get to work together and make a good product at the end of it all. That turned into a bit of an essay... Thanks for your comment though! Mark

@@AutoglymUK Thank you for your honest and thorough reply. I wasn't fully aware about the conflicting properties of the chemical makeup of these products. I know carpro has an iron fallout remover/tar remover combo and many people say it isn't as good as the individual products but I assumed that was due to the concentration of the main active chemical(s). I thought for a regularly-maintained car, the "3-in-1" would be a good decon product to "unclog the pores" so to say. Maybe in the future there will be another innovation in the detailing world when we undoubtedly find the next "wonder product" and something like this may become a feasible option. Your expert opinion is greatly appreciated and I value the time you have taken to respond. Keep up with the good work. Dad

This seems like a super great option for rims, that probably won't strip off most waxes and sealants, but will work effectively for most people. The only problem with these type of cleaners are the awful smell if they have the iron remover component in the formula. I would stay away from acids and super high PH wheel cleaners as they simply aren't necessary for most situations. If you can swipe the dirt off your wheels and they are only lightly contaminated, try a PH neutral product before using those heavy hitting low PH acidic cleaners and high PH alkaline wheel cleaners. If you use a wax or sealant on your wheels, stay with PH neutral products to maintain the wax or polymer sealant on the finish. I use Fusso Coat on my rims and maintain them with a PH neutral wheel cleaner and a spray and rinse polymer sealant for the weekly or bi-weekly wash. Works perfectly and my protection stays on the rims for a long time (months with no problem, sometimes longer), but I keep my wheels in pristine condition.

Thank you for the video. It looks pretty decent for a consumer product, and the price is quite good. Will it convince me to swap over from my usual product ? (Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel) .... I doubt it, as BH is brilliant and about the same price. But for people who pick up their stuff locally from Halfords, yes I can see why this would be very popular. Edit : Just saw in older comments you were interested to know who others use BH. Personally, I have tried 20 different wheel cleaners, although not tried this Autogylm one yet. The Mequiars was probably the best for a Halfords product, but compared to BH it was quite noticeably weaker. BH Auto Wheel turns red much quicker, and darker red too, which is what I want, it saves time. BH also has really good wheel cleaning performance too, it is good on tyres, and the price is (last time I bought 5 litres) about £62, so not that different to this product. The good thing about BH, is that although it does have a very strong smell like all fallout stuff, it's actually not 'eggy', which makes it bearable.
