I have been training dogs since 1969. I know how to PROPERLY use tools. I have 9 rescue dogs in my pack all have been e-collar trained. Excellent session on e-collars. These are the same things I teach owners.

Yes! I love that he has the owners try it! And now I know how to try it myself. Don’t want to put it on my little whippet without knowing what she is feeling. But her running into the city street is far more dangerous than a little zap. I’m glad you said that about the tens machine because I have used that before.

But you are not a dog. It might feel different to your dog. You know what's happening and when it will happen. Your dog doesn't. Would your dog not run into a street if someone tapped it on the shoulder? That shock collar only works because the dog really, really wants to avoid the feeling. Science shows aversive training has negative side effects on the dog down the road. Positive training takes more time, effort and knowledge but it can achieve the same results

Probably the BEST explanation / demonstration of how E-Collars work when understood and used. Friends and family judge me on wanting to use an e-collar and it's hard to explain how I believe this is a great tool to use in training now. I don't have to try. I can just share this video with them. Thank you.

Any good school course usually has an introduction/orientation meeting. That’s what this seems like to me. You can’t just use an ecollar and the dog will now listen to you. The e collar is a tool and the dog usually has to go through something like a 16 week course of weekly 1 hour classes in order to learn the training.

Many. Actually my brother is deaf and a former boss of mine needed several properties guarded and I've trained many other rescues for a number of different things. It wasn't any theory I was aware of at the time it was just a mixture of love and common sense.

Punishment vs just stimulation. A shock collar is used to punish through discomfort just to get a bad behavior to stop and an e collar is used to give the dog a feeling similar to a tap to get its attention so that you can tell it to do something (and redirect its energy from the unwanted behavior).

Using electric charges of any level on your dog has had veterinary confirmed interference with healthy nerological function and can cause siezures as well as thyroid disorder... Furthermore, allot of animals won't express their pain. A tens unit requires a direct unit to skin contact which is often aided by gels or adhesive.... There's no way to maintain contact consistently on a furry animal. Indirect contact causes painful arching.... Additionally, studies in animal behavior have indicated psycological distress caused by these collars as they don't reveal to the dog the source of the sensations. They confuse the dog and frustrate them. These collars have been linked to hyper-reactivity for this very reason.

In direct contrast to the common pro shock-collar argument that the shock is more of an annoyance than actually painful, researchers actually found that shocked dogs exhibited behaviors that are universally accepted as signs of pain and fear.
@mandyaitken3406 Жыл бұрын
So basically it's a shock collar. Please people, stop shocking dogs because a trainer tells you it's OK. Use your common sense. You wouldn't shock your kids. I've had all sorts of dogs with all sorts of issues, all of which have been resolved with firm but fair consistent training, madness 😠

Wow I've never known anyone to have to use a system like this to train a dog - not ever. It's very simple to teach dogs to learn to obey commands, it involves patience, consistancy, establishing trust and of course exherting some measure of dominance, but not shocking them or tighening a collar around their necks and threatening to close off an airway. I've never had a problem training an animal without the use of shock collars or even any device more moderate such as this one. I had no idea this technology existed. It saddens me to know it does.
@marisolflores98825 жыл бұрын
R Sunday you do know there are aggressive dogs that will not be trained in commands even after a years training right? This is for the safety of the dog

I spent a lot of time on KZbin trying to learn different tricks and tips. To help maybe call me better dog trainer. And My dog Amor. Happy balance dog, and I appreciated your opinion until I went to your channel to see. What you suggest on dog training But didn't Locate any playlists on dog training. I think it's great that you are confident comfortable and dog training but there is a lot of people out there like myself who need people like this to help teach us when we can't even afford to go to dog training class. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion. However, people offering negative opinions don't understand. How detrimental that could be to someone who might have posted a video to help me and now feels insecure doing it. You do more damage then helping people when you post things like what you did.. And I apologize. I'm not usually the type to speak up like this but if I need tips on quilting I'll ask you. And, if you have a better technique ( Like making a video of you training your own dogs, or other people's successfully, make a video too So I can learn your method to.

What a simp and wuss. Man up. Animals learn by force thats just how it is. Dogs aren't people and some need to be forced tmout of their entitled and privileged behavior. They understand pain so we should use this as a means to teach them their place. Which is in submitting to humans.
