No, engaging the epicenter with music that already has bass in it will distort and hurt your speakers .. you can use bass boost on your amp to select the frequencie you wanna add too

@@SQ_Silverado hey bro thanks for uploading. The video shit is still confusing to me though.😅 So I just upgraded my amp (JL HD )and just got a 12 inch W7 Pro wedge .. had a question when tuning my gain on my amp how should I have the epic Center bass knob should I have it turned all the way down or in the middle?
@JasonWW200010 ай бұрын
@@haydensmith9064Make sure any subsonic filters are turned off. Can your subs handle those low frequencies? Do you have a ported enclosure thats tuned low? If you have some type of EQ you can cut some output from 35-60Hz or so and turn up the amp gain.

@@JasonWW2000 i traced it back to the head unit outputs on kenwood head units for the sub w and i tried a sony head unit and played them fine just not as loud as i wanted so i was hoping the epic 150 would boost that low but doesnt seem to

Alright so I got an epicenter installed it into my system but for some reason it seems to take out/lower bass from regular songs with bass already in them. It just makes rap songs for example quiet even if I try to adjust bass knob. Does anyone know how to fix this?
@SQ_Silverado3 ай бұрын
@@hbarbosa1235 never engage the epicenter with hip hop or rap. It’s only to be used when the song has almost no bass. You can damaged your equipment otherwise
@Maarrtinn3 ай бұрын
Your issue is the rap songs. It's not meant to make hip songs sound louder . If anything, it creates bass on songs that don't necessarily have it. Like Spanish music , or rock music like the og guy said
@hbarbosa12353 ай бұрын
I dont use it on songs with bass but it seems to lower/take it out from those songs. I have the epicenter knob all the way down but even if I adjust my subwoofer bass knob on rap songs to how I usually listen to it (loud), it's like the bass is quiet and not as clear and crisp as how my system sounded before the epicenter.

The width works as paragraphic eq or bass boost and I know this because I tested it with a oscilloscope and it boost ac volts rms and made distortion alot so be careful other than that you can set sweep wherever you'd like. Me I have width to the lowest setting and sweep low.

In my opinion these products are correcting what the market "scrambled" in the late 90's. they had to hit rewind so the industry could continue to make positive capital annually. The peak was around 1997. before that the equipment tunning was true. highly efficient enclosures that used to sound good with subs from before the new age (SPL) engineered equipment had a wide range of compatibility between equipment. They deliberately de-tuned the equipment to make these enclosures irrelevant. Now, no matter the sub you choose you just about need a custom enclosure "plus" a sound organizer to correct the offset. Its marketing, it just is where the market is today. you really do have to have that pre 2k knowledge or know someone that does, or you can get ripped off. Or get sucked into what we call chasing the bass dragon never finding the sound you're looking for after spending a lot of money and learning nothing because the formula is still scrambled. That is why pre-fabs are tuned so high. Or, when you go to look for an enclosure that matches your subs specs it is priced high. Hence the reason I call it "scrambled" because the manufacturers know what will work perfect and efficient. But because they are all invested in each other, so it is bad for business to give you a truly tuned product. If they did, they would never be able to sell products like this in order to correct their deliberate de-tunning.

You explanation for what the EC does is almost half right. It restores bass frequencies that your head unit cuts at high volume to minimize distortion. So even rap is cut by the the HU, and all head units do it even aftermarket.
@chriscuthbertson9 ай бұрын
That is what AccuBASS does. EC creates bass that was never there, think old rock music that had very little sub bass in the mix, it will add a lower octave to the original sound to add lower frequencies that were not in the original.
@b-luv3399 ай бұрын
@@chriscuthbertson right I dig. You get the most benefit from songs with “weak” bass. But if the group/ band had a bass guitar, or heavy drums the bass is there. Good vibrations from The Beach Boys is late 60s and it will shatter windshields.

Just a side note, the epicenter patent expired a long time ago. So it has been copied by competitors.
@SQ_Silverado9 ай бұрын
The competitors may have the technology, but you can’t argue that the components they use are not as high quality as the internals of Audiocontrol.
@JasonWW20009 ай бұрын
@@SQ_Silverado Why would you say that? Of course you could argue that it's competitors are using a slightly better design or better components. You would literally need to show me a side-by-side comparison so I could see the quality of construction and parts used. Only then could I potentially make a judgment as to one being better than the other. One instance of the Audio Control Epicenter Micro using higher quality components compared to the Wavtech Bassrestore is that Audio Control uses aluminum knobs on their remote whereas Wavtech uses plastic knobs. So the quality nod in this instance goes to AC.
