I've done a lot of ice fishing in my 71 years in Michigan. When the lake freezes be cautious around the channels and bays. We used to fish around the Le Cheanaux Islands in northern lake Huron. The ice thickness was variable, and sometimes dangerous. Might want to build a ice bridge with evergreen trees, helps guide you safely. I fished with some guys who had gone through the ice on Little Bay de Noc with snowmobiles,luckily they survived. Not trying to be negative but don't want to see you guys in a situation. Love these episodes, so different from the Jeep thing. Thanks for sharing.

My husband and I live on a 2 acre property in the rural area outside of Calgary, and we always burn our garbage. We spread the ashes around our evergreens. That's natural fertilizer and it's free. The only items that go into a bin are the recyclables. You should try it, instead of hauling your garbage back to the mainland.

I have been enjoying your lovely videos. Just discovered you yesterday. I was just wondering if you ever did contests or giveaways to bless the people who are supporting you in such a tremendous way? I always respect so much the people that actually want to give back to those who are giving so much to them. One couple I was watching who live off grid had won a grocery store contest with free groceries for the entire year. It amounted to $10,000. They went into the store and gave every cent of that money back to people in the store who were elderly or looked like they might be needy. That really blessed me.

There is a product called stove black, mine is IMPERIAL. Its made for wood stoves and pipe inside to make it look good. I only use it once a year. Its not paint but it does make it look really good. Thanks for the vid. Andy

The Thumbnail photo of the boat and lantern reminded me of the wrought iron lantern holder that attached to the side of my grandpa’s, get this, row boat. This was around 65 yrs ago. He would take me out in the dark on a VERY Northern Minnesota Lake. I think he fished for lake trout and walleye? But we always came back to the cabin with a couple of fish. Anyway, it would be cool for you if they still made boat Lateran hooks. Charming! Just looked online and Bass ProShop makes one. Not the old fashioned wrought iron kind, but very functional. The last preparations for a long winter's nap as mom double checks her list as the young lads gather with cousins to roll in the docks until spring thaw comes. Almost in a blink of an eye, another day comes to an end with the next day's list of musts anxiously awaiting as the ice thickens overnight. With each jaggery crunch as the boats break through to their final resting place amongst the rocky lined edge of the forest a perfect tree waves its limbs pick me to await the family to a gathering of assorted lights, and ornaments as slivery strands of long tradition adds the finale touch to a perfect fresh cut pine tree that radiates Christmas Joy Love Hope Peace throughout the cabin. Oh yeah, backdraft. Major gusty winds today and lots of smoke came in the house. Now it smells like a campfire indoors. I wondered if there was something to prevent that. Hope it functions well for you. Let us know the next time you get big winds how it works.

So the panels are delayed till ice comes in, i your intention to ground mount them for the winter, as winter is probably not likely to offer the ability to perform roof work. I enjoy watching the lake freeze up process from my easy chair and yes Gratiful I can just jump in the truck to get what ever I want or have Amazon deliver it. Your long term goal prusuit is Very fun to come along on.

I gasped when I saw the “bubble lights” as I remembered them being called on your tree. The ones we had became so hot the plastic bulb melted into the tree. Potential fire hazard. Please re think those lights! Wishing you all the best.
