Boy you guys sure have a lot of snow. Out here in Alberta it's melting. We had +8C today and the ground under our numerous spruce trees is bare. It must be nice for those 8 guys to have their own snowmobiles. I heard they are expensive to buy. It's been some decades for me since I've been in a sauna. I don't dip into a lake but a mound of snow will do as well, sort of.

When I was a teenager I would go with my friend and his father to their house in Vermont I would go there up until I went to the Army. My friend came back from the Army and he was never the same but I joined anyway and in many respects I also changed. My ultimate change was when I let Jesus into my life. I love hearing about you talk about your children’s Opa and Oma. My mom‘s parents were originally from Yugoslavia and Germany. We called them open Oma as well. We were told that was German for grandma and grandpa. It brings back. Great memories!

Natural disasters r out of our control and such as in Syria and Turkey are heartbreaking “To Say The Least””!! Well that brought back fond memories of snowmobiling with friends and family, driven from my mother and father's passion for people and the winter wonderland of northern New England. Sadly, Mom and Dad have passed on and I'm not the young buck I used to be, but the 1970's and 1980's were filled with times like your video (sans the polar ice dip --- that's just crazy!). One thing always surprises me when seeing the modern day snowmobile. There is no wind protection like our old machines had. We crossed some pretty cold lakes and fields with blowing snow and our windshields protected us from the elements. My passion for snowmobiling has been replaced with a passion for motorcycles and boats, but those winter gatherings remain among the most memorable times of my life. Enjoy them while you can.

Hey Pete, question about the wind directional cap you put on your fireplace chimney because you were experiencing smoke coming down to chimney into the cabin. First, what brand did you purchase? Second, what was the cost? Third, did you have to modify the pipe before putting on new cap? Now that you have the new wind directional cap, do you get any smoke odors in the cabin? Do you have open a window slight to keep good draft going up the chimney? Thanks for your help and really enjoy your videos!

Hi there. Im pretty sure it is a Famco cap. It cost about $300 and it fit pretty easily onto our 6 inch chimney pipe. Some are designed for a double wall insulated chimney. Since installing this, we have had absolutely no back smoke issues. It has worked incredibly well. Hope that helps.

The winter's days give way to February as Temps seem to lessen from the deep winter's bitter nap. Even the tree's branches yearn to be released from heavy snow. The sun shines brighter in the sky as its intensity warms one's cheeks and nose as woolen layers give one freedom to be warm through a day's adventure. The day is calling for winter's activities before the south winds bring warmer Temps. Friends and family gather to take in untouched winter land as snowmobiles fill the lake silence. A bomb fire calls all to gather around with sweet smells of delicious foods swirling up from pots of steaming food. Lips smack in glee as the fire crackles to warm one's toes. Tales of new and old shared amongst those gathered will become new treasured memories to retell again when they gather, oh don't let that be too long as life changes in a blink of an eye. All too soon hugs were exchanged in goodbyes until we gather again. Thank you Epic Family for sharing winter's gift
