His sister was my drama teacher at high school. Lovely lady. I remember her telling us that her brother was the legend Geoff Rowley after me and my mates asked her if she was related to him. We knew Geoff was from Liverpool and she was too with the same surname so we just asked. We didn’t believe her at first but then a few weeks later she brought us some flip stickers and merchandise off him. She was then officially the coolest teacher ever.

Thank you Vice! This is amazing. I've been a big Geoff Rowley fan since I was 12. My first board was a Tom Penny Flip board. This was priceless to hear all the history. The clip of Tom and Geoff as little kids was hilarious!

I'll never forget the broken glass in cement on the tops of brick walls in Sunderland UK. That and council estate housing. The smell of cars on fire in the morning is crazy comforting.

As a kid I moved to Liverpool from the south in the late 90's, one of my first memories was seeing the broken glass on top of walls... we still had the laundry robbed when it was drying on the washing line! We did live in Litherland though so there were plenty of scallies about xD

This is one of my favorite episodes ever. I also love the Arto episode, Geoff has a lot of stuff in that one too. Wish there was one on Penny or maybe all of Flip/Death Box as a whole. From the beginning with Alex Moul all the way till David Gonzales and the more recent stuff.

My dad got me a rowley flip deck when i was 16 and i had been watchin his skate videos for weeks str8 just stuck on them and i gotta say it was one of the best gifts ever i skated that deck for 3 years til it gave out.

Great video. I remember watching Geoff in videos from flip, 411, Transworld etc. (So much the tapes would stop working!) It's guys like him who made me want to go out and skate every day after school rain or shine and try new tricks or hit something bigger. whoa liverpool looks like an interesting place ive never been anywhere near there. it looks pretty run down and basic but still has a nice vibe to it at the same time. alot different than the north american look here where you have a mcdonalds on every corner. almost a different culture me and my friends and the normal time people started drinking was around 16 years old. think i heard they said the kids drank around 11 years old and 10 years old there? seems like some tough kids but focused at the same time!
