10:06 that 360 flip over the sidewalk construction was in an action sequence shot in Trasher back in like maybe 92. It looked so huge and such a long gap to throw a 360 flip over it seemed incomprehensible then....! It's been burned into my brain since then. Huf went big and tech. He was the man!

*Had to come back to this after hearing he passed. He and Gino are the reason why I live in New York to this day. Such great style, always skated so fast, and that pop... good lord that pop. Such a legend, gone way too soon. The brand will carry on his name.* *REST IN PEACE HUF*

the significance of skateboarding during this period and the reason why Vice and so many others continue to revisit it is because it completely effected and change popular culture and still is to this day. This tiny group of misfit kids had a direct effect on the fashion, art, music and attitude of the last and current generation. highly creative time to be part of.

There was one dude where I live that basically taught everyone to ollie from that era. It's crazy as if you ask someone my age or a little older "who first taught you to skate properly" it's always this same guy. I seen a video from like 92 with him on the other day as well, was crazy.

My husband here in Paris has a cousin, mixed blood, who was a skateboard star and had sponsors. He immediately went to drugs and blew it all. I started skateboarding in the USA around 1965. I don't know why people think this sort of thing will be a longterm career. I enjoyed NYC for 17 years and promoted a zine called DON'T SKATE when I did NYC radio.

I have the same problem, its supposed to 'reload' when you press HD but mine doesn't do that. I have to reload the page and quickly choose the HD's and also doing that afterwards scrolling the 'scene' bar..then it works. Sorry If I am overcomplicating it, can't think of a more simplified way to explain.
