Austin Keyes quite obviously this salt has water in its crystal lattice. About a pentahydrate I’d say. The other, however, appears to be closer to an anhydrous state, roughly a monohydrate if I had to estimate.

@@JumpinBean95 They mass-produce king oysters, potabello, chanterells, and shiitake literally right down the road from me. A huge mushroom farm that operates year round here in the PNW. On top of that I've grown on my own from spores and not only is it extremely easy to do, but super cheap as well.

@@n0isyturtle that's great, i live in Clatsop County but what i meant is like the botton mushrooms where they grow like crazy, you mentioned they're on a farm and most mushrooms need certain things to grow like oysters on spruce. I just don't see a wild mushroom like what we have here in PNW ever being low quality if it's mainly grown in the wild /property. Gotta remember hipsters don't like getting their hands dirty so that's why a 1/4 lb of chantrelles costs 20 bucks here at the coast stores! (It's insane) Question! Do they grow chantrelles year round?

I once went to a salt tasting, and the guy providing the salt explained that the dominant price factor is shipping costs. No matter the quality, if a salt has to come from half a world away, it will be expensive. That being said, the different salts tasted wildly different, more than I ever could have imagined, and I feel this video merely scratched the surface on the complexities of salt taste.

Given that legally these kind of consumer tests are fine, I'm guessing that there's more editing and reshoots going on than the audience realises, and that's why we can't know the brands because it would be too much of a headache for them if someone investigated. Otherwise the lack of brands doesn't make sense.

@@dl5fse990 watch this series back and pay attention to the signs at the front - sometimes they've already exposed the prices and blurred them and so on. Pay attention to the actual products too and you'll start to see that these are chopped up heavily and not aired in any chronological ordwr, and it looks likely that they're not actually a fair test. Like if these were an objective and fair test of the experts, there's no reason for them to hide the brand names as that would be legal. The only reason to do so would be if the test was flawed and unfair in some way, which the editing seems to suggest is the case. The expert likely isn't guessing anything and knows which is which from the get go as the purpose of these videos isn't to show one as superior but to explain to you, the viewer, how experts go about ascertaining quality in various products. Basically by editing and reshoots I mean that if you pay attention you can see the final edit is from all over, and that the prices are often exposed but blurred way before they're supposed to be. That fits with the fact they can't name the brands for "legal reasons" and suggests the experts aren't guessing anything, they're just explaining how they go about ascertaining quality in their personal field.

I like that this is a positive spin on what we normally hear about salt. In the health-conscious world that we live in today; there is a lot of fear added to many of the aspects of our diets. I.e. fats, carbs/sugars, salt. We rarely hear the "they are necessary for our very survival, why not try the good stuff" side of them. That was a nice bit at the end. *Everything in moderation.*

Matt Blank Salt actually doesn’t have much of an impact on blood pressure at all unless you have a specific genetic predisposition. For most people, the effect of salt is way overrsted
@EmmaAppleBerry
@EmmaAppleBerry 5 жыл бұрын
@@BobbyHill26 ummm im going to assume yourr not talking out of youre arse and give you the benefit of the doubt ...but actually salt has a massive effect on bodiky fluidd and their pressure natural sodium in vegetables etc isnt as bad cause its not added like salt is. But it retains water. And if you have any sugar your insulin increases and insulin binds to salt adding even more pressure. I cant axtually consume salt or sugar for this reason nor can i have any other bodily fluid affecting things like caffiene and alcohol and some medications like aspirin ibuprofen phernurgan because they also effect me negatively. This is the bane of having menieres disease which has no know cause or cure and is not genetic in the hereditary way at least... who knows it might be a mutation or something similar that occurs during development. Really basically blanket statement menieres means the fluid in your ears that is like a leveler tool with the bubble is not a seperate system which is should be and is affected by whatever the rest of your blood/fluids are affected by including salt which is the most major one. So idk dont be telling people salts fine. Salt is in everything and so is sugar. Like its sooo over the top that unless you only eat whole fruit and veg fresh not canned cause thats also in a salt brine. Or make something from scratch and make sure theres no salt or sugar in it. The majority of people consume waaaaaay more than the daily reccomend intake of salt. Even if you dont add salt to your food its already in it. Breads sauces butter cheese yoghurt meats snacks sweets everything. So just please be careful with your health because youre probably consuming way more than you think. I challenge you to go a week (as long as your health/body can take it) without added salt. Any salt. A lot of times the packaging wont say salt but will fall under another name and yet still be salt. You can have foods with sodium like tomatos celery etc but you gotta balance it out small meals across the day you cant just have homemade tomato soup with fresh tomatos cause youll be having way more sodium than you would if it were whole and yeah just even go look at your pantry or fridge and find anything that doesnt have salt i can gaurentee you itll be almost nothing (excluding fresh plain raw unprocessed veg and fruit) Thats just one thing that people with my chronic illness have to avoid forever our entire lives. I essentially libe like someone in the pre middle ages when salt and sugar were super rare expensive commodities like spices were for the average schmuck. Eat less salt. Even if you dont have medical reasons its not necessary to have it in everything. Food companies pump stuff full of salt to preserve it and then that wat they can put more sugar in than it tastes like because the salt tastes the super over sweet edge off and that way they can putin more of those long lasting cheap ingredients that are stripped of any nutrition of fresh or natural sugar/salt and can put in less of the actual expensive real ingredients.

@@EmmaAppleBerry actually, I would also recommend you don't tell people to eat less salt, actually this can do a lot of harm to an otherwise healthy person especially people who tend to sweat a lot need a lot of salt to keep their electrolytes in balance and keep their blood pressure up so they don't just randomly faint all in all, salt intake is a very individual thing and people should figure it out for themselves, neither a blanket statement pro or con is helpful, especially if you're eating a whole foods based diet and don't consume a lot of processed foods, you actually might need to add more than the general recommendation is, if you eat mainly processed and ready to eat meals you might not want to do that
