Epidural vs Spinal Anesthesia

Doing a spinal and an epidural on the same person - you would do it - its called a combined spinal epidural or CSE. Used a bit in C-sections (maybe emergency C-sections) - first shot is spinal for quick effect then epidural for lasting block.

Pushing in the needle pierces the supraspinal ligament (between processes) and the flavum lig (between the lamina)

Correct, I felt the same way. I felt like I couldn’t breathe and had a panic attack. I hate it.

once anesthetic flows high enough you get that sense ( unintended high spinal block) as long as with oxigen supliment you'r fine its nothing special, will get better in 1h or so.

Had 2 hip replacements First hip surgery was great with no blocker. The second surgery I had the spinal blocker. I total regret it, Im suffering from pain now. Having pain from hip To knee, extremely painful 6 weeks from surgery. The first surgery was over the worst pain in around 3 weeks. My Chiropractor said my pain Is coming from the shot blocker. You need to ice also where they gave you shot. Also use a tens unit. Soak in bathtub with Epsom salt after your wound heals I know another person who got the blocker. It was a disaster also. Do your research. Think about it there giving you a shot where all your nerves run. I wish I would have not let them talk me into it. It’s easier to learn from other peoples mistakes

I've had several surguries andi prefer general anesthesia but the anasteseologst was determined to give me a spinal I had a bad experience with my first spinal was poked 5times and he couldn't get it right!and I wanted to deck him! So now I refuse spinals and they get pissed at me!

pia is a thin membrane that's directly coating the spinal cord and the nerves that leave it
