Dr. Ann Shippy how we can powerfully influence our gene expression, and by knowing these practical, basic rules can help you change the trajectory of your health. Dr. Ann Shippy is on a mission to help create extraordinary wellness by using cutting-edge science and the latest genetic research to find and treat root causes -not just the symptoms- of illness. After a decade of working as an IBM engineer, Dr. Shippy was challenged with her own health ailments that traditional medicine couldn’t resolve, so after doing her own research, she resolved to pioneer a new kind of medical practice. She left engineering to attend University of Texas Medical School. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and certified in Functional Medicine. She creates custom blueprints and real-world health solutions for those suffering from any combination of physical, environmental, or genetic health concerns. She is the author of two books and has been serving patients for over 15 years in her thriving practice based in Austin, Texas. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Dr. Shippy is my doctor, and discovered so many things causing numerous health issues for me including: issues with gluten and dairy, uncovering a form of malaria and multiple parasites debilitating me and so much more. Most doctors told me my symptoms were in my head until I met Dr. Shippy. She listened and believed me, and did extensive testing and never gave up - and cares so much, (her whole office too) more than any doctor I have ever known and I am so grateful!

Ann Shippy is one to watch. She is one of the smartest people I know, and what's even better is that SHE CARES DEEPLY. You can see it in this talk... I've been her patient and known her for years, and she is always many steps ahead of the mainstream. For example-- Consumer Reports just did a huge story on microplastics and how we are ingesting so much of it, causing hormone disruption, etc.-- and Dr. Shippy has been saying this for a very long time and testing for it in her patients. She is the "real deal."

So empowering to know that we can make small changes to turn things around. I love the message that you can't just close your eyes and pretend and expect good outcomes for your health.
