you mentioned to use alcohol and water for the encoder strip. Epilog said to never use alcohol. They recommend and a few drops of dish soap and water. Alcohol will damage the encoder strip, according to Epilog. 3-7-18

He also mentioned rotating the Q-Tip as going along the encoder strip in order to keep the surface fresh. One full turn on the Q-Tip won't get you across 36". I'd use about 4-5 on each side ... with water and mild soap.

Hello i need epilog laser legend 36ext xs002 motherboard

We recommend contacting Epilog Laser directly. We do not carry that item. Good Luck!

What is the cleaning solution?
@hockeyrink Жыл бұрын
When we got our /first/ laser, the installation tech told me "Ya gonna want to use this bottle of cleaner on everything. When it's done, you can call us for an expensive replacement OR....go to a liquor store and buy a bottle of Evergreen grain alcohol. Just as good and much cheaper". So we use Evergreen Grain Alcohol for all our optics ever since!

plastic strip? like a 30 bux cheap desktop printer honestly for the price they should install enclosed glass encoder
@Solarbotics4 жыл бұрын
A glass encoder would have been preferable, although the plastic one has been working well enough, and it it has to be narrow enough for the pass-though optical sensor. A think glass one (although better) may not be as robust.
@cnccarving4 жыл бұрын
@@Solarbotics the glass one is installed in extrusions they are indeed rigid they giving absolute postions means no homing need the plastic ones are always incremental you zero it with a limitswitch

also a plastic cost 5 bux a 4 feet the glass one cost 500 a 4 feet

Epilog sells them direct, and they're beautiful. But I _have_ bought some spares from www.laserlands.net just in case. Haven't had to use them yet, but the price is much more reasonable for backup parts.
