I suppose a lot of people on KZbin just aren't finding satisfaction or happiness with being a KZbinr, they are looking for other things to do in life instead of being a KZbinr, or they feel like they've done what they wanted to do, and are finishing and going to find something else to do. I have subbed to other creators before they quit (although, they quit well before this year) and some have given reasons like mental health, and getting a career.

Southern Plains Railfan will always be remembered as KZbin’s greatest modern-day Santa Fe railfan. Although he may not continue to be with us in the form of new KZbin videos, he will still be out there carrying his legacy with him. Who knows?
