This is the best Epiphone I’ve ever played along with the Bonamassa Amos V. I also have a Gibson ES-335 Traditional and the Epi Bona 335 more than holds it’s own, look for the prices on these to only escalate with time.

Great review of the tones that you can get from that impressive guitar. I was fortunate enough to get 1 and it’s amazing, another home run from Epiphone.

I was able to find one of these in the wild and played it ….took it home 10 minutes later. One of the best sounding and playing 335s I’ve put my hands on. While red isn’t my favorite color it pairs nicely with my cherry Lucille. I’m very happy with my Bonamassa 335. If you find one and are debating if you should get it…..just do it you won’t regret the purchase

@@timothywalker7012 LOL- I got one 2 wks ago and Fed Ex promptly lost it in transit, so I am currently holding in stasis while they try to figure out 1. why it went from KC to Memphis instead of to NE, and 2. Where it actually is- it seriously just 'disappeared'. O/N shipping, even, and *POOF* just gone.....Ive been waiting 2 wks for an answer from them, calling every few days. Maybe ill get one, maybe I won't, I guess we'll see.....

When players fantasize about "if you could have any vintage guitar," the go-to is usually a Les Paul Burst (typically a 59), 57/62/65 Strat and maybe a Nocaster Tele. For me it's a 1962-64 ES335 Dot. Everyone is so enamored with the sound of PAFs in a good, light weight Les Paul. While I love that tone too, I always have PAFs in LPs (I'm more of a Goldtop guy myself), I swear that they sound like they originally intended for the 335s (or any ES). A nice underwound set with a slightly scooped midrange with it's added presence just contrasts with the prominent midrange that semihollows produce is godly. Either clean into a Blackface, pushing a Tweed or crunching with JTM 45 or early style Plexi... 😇I know they're going for Joe's thing, but I think this would pair better with a Burstbucker 1 in the neck and 2 in the bridge. Interestingly the longest I've owned an ES was actually a 345 with the stereo outputs. I actually liked the Variatone when I bought it, though later modified it to change capacitor values instead of the notch filter type thing. For a while however, I was wishing that it was a standard mono output since I was only using a single amp and always figured that's what you do with stereo outs. One day I was trying to get a certain crunch, and for the hell of it I ran the bridge pickup through an old Timmy OD, then into an A/B/Y switcher along with the neck pickup bypassing the OD, and that was IT. I was off and running. Over the years I've converted several dual humbucker solid body guitars to stereo, both my own and many others (I worked on a repair shop for 15 years). There's literally no end of things to play with: running the neck through a Fuzz (especially octave fuzz) with the bridge straight, distortion, modulation effects, EQs, a POG, delays to get a wet/dry thing, etc. Even running one pickup through a Wah or volume pedal for swells with the other pickup straight through. You'd make Jack White's head spin. Edit: Jesus Christ, I didn't intend the comment to be this long... (So I made it longer by coming back and adding this to make it longer, then comment on the comment to make it longer, than...)😉

I just got one and love it! I did a youtube short demo of it. For the comments griping on the price, it’s pretty fair considering all the upgrades to it. The cheapest Gibson ES-335 is $3K, this is less than half that. 1) Regular Epiphone ES 335 $600 2) Burstbucker 2 & 3 pickup $300 3) Hard shell case $100 4) Upgraded wiring harness and switch is around $100 if prewired, and only cheaper if assembling it from scratch but more work Just the features above bring the cost to around $1100. Keep in mind many folks got 15% off on this signature through places like Sweetwater and didn’t pay the full price either. This already makes it a very fair value. Now consider the added points below. 5) Upgrading pickups and wiring on semi hollows is not easy and most without the tools/experience will have to pay a luthier to do all these upgrades 6) The tremolo and one piece neck is also a bonus feature and being a signature with the artist name adds a small bit of value and allows it to retain it’s value. 7) While this guitar will actually hold it’s value or go up in price. A regular Epi with the same mods will not. Most cases, if selling a modded guitar, you lose money on those mods.

My Sheraton cost me £450 (still under £600). I can see a couple of hundred quid difference in this piece to that, but not a 100% increase.
@jimwoodard642 жыл бұрын
Customized hardshell case, Gibson pickups upgrade, CTS pots, Mallory capacitors, Maestro vibrola, one piece neck, and Switchcraft toggle and jack. Current Sheraton prices are $750. You bought before the price increases or used, so you got a good price. These are also limited editions, so once they're sold, that's it. These are all things that make it worth a heftier a price tag to most buyers.

Beautiful guitar….don’t understand why people are whining about the $…for that guitar I’d pay that all day…great case too, but it’s a rock n roll monster, like all good 335’s, and try to get a really great one for under a few thousand
@CedricSatterfield Жыл бұрын
Probably because they see “Epiphone” and their frame of reference is only the last 30 yrs and not during their heyday when they were peers and direct competitors of Gibson. So, in their mind it shouldn’t be priced over 700.00, tops, cause, you know, overseas. As they type their corksniffing comments on a Chinese phone.

Everything that's his signature gear is only ever good for low gain, there's a beautiful British mid gain overdriven blues tone that Joe BonerMassFace totally ignores.
