I have the Inspired by Gibson 335 and the Casino in worn ebony...both very, very different instruments ...I look at the Casino as a singer songwriter guitar and the 335 as a do it all guitar which is extremely versatile and has great upper fret access.

That epiphone is a 335 p-90 and the firefly is a 335 clone. whole different ballgame. 335 is semihollow so thats how it has a stopbar it has a block of wood all the way through the middle of the guitar separating it into two chambers. the casino is fully hollow.

A lot of people don't know some Gibson Epiphones are made in the US , the Casino is one of them to be honest there is no difference in sound between the US and China made , sound quality and build wise one just costs more due to where its made . I have an vintage Korean made Les Paul which I like so much I use it the studio more often then the US made Les Paul due to the unique sound it has

The thing is that if you give them a budget to have Epiphone make you a Gibson R8 in China, they will make it the same or better and it would cost you 1/2 of what the one made in the USA costs

@@Tecniconta 100% correct , due to labor cost , since 2015 the China made Epiphones are equal to the vintage Korean made , Plus if you get a US made your over paying for some over paid union worker to build it , China has a very effective way of dealing with workers who decide to not go to work while demanding more money .

@@mandrakeblackstone5838 But not only that, as I tell you now they sell Les Pauls for €599 and they are already of good quality, if Epiphone wanted for €2000 you would have a Les Paul of absolutely the same or better quality than a Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop made in the USA, but they are not interested because otherwise Gibson (the parent company) would stop selling American Custom Shops for the money they want.

If it sounds good, it's good, no matter how much it costs. The more expensive options don't improve sound, but they do improve playability and quality control for damn sure! Although Epiphone has improved drastically over the last few years when it comes to QC

Rich they all sounded good, but for $200 for that Firefly I could probably afford to buy the effects pedal or software you are using to play them through that helps to make them all sound awesome. Please mention what that important item is. Thanks for making them all sound great.

Took me a few years to find the Gold Top 338 Firefly like yours… Apparently they no longer make it in that color which I personally think is awesome! I grabbed one off Reverb that was new old stock from a music store in Illinois for $220… Didn’t have a semi hollow in my collection and didn’t want to spend a lot in case I didn’t like it… After getting it and doing a truss rod adjustment it’s now my favorite guitar… I normally play Telecasters mostly but this thing really Rocks! Thanks for all the educational videos about gear & guitars… I really enjoy the channel from North Wilkesboro NC! 🎶🎸🎵🤘🎶🍺🇺🇸

First, Great playing and a great demo. My only comment would be that these guitars sound very close and that blue Epiphone Casino is not even the latest offering from Epiphone for the Casino. The current model, has the block inlays and trapeze tailpiece to match the USA model with large CTS pots and USA caps, for $699. It's really only missing the Nitro finish.

i have a firefly 335 style guitar and with a few tweaks [pickups] it is an amazing bang for your buck guitar, seems there p90 pickups are better then there humbuckers ...

I think it's a killer guitar. But at 3499. It should be. I think the made in china eppiphone casino vintage sunburst is probably the pick for me. Pickups and electronics can be changed. And have money to buy another guitar or two or three or four.

Looks better, sounds better and plays better IMHO ,however, 8 times better which it should be when cost is taken into consideration no certainly not the USA Epiphone is probably twice the guitar the Chinese Epi is so I would say twice better. Its the law of diminishing returns folks. Its amazing the difference a nitro finish makes to the look of the American Epiphone though I would agree about that, hugely improves the look of the guitar IMHO.

This one is the made in USA epiphone. So made in the Gibson factory. You can't go wrong with either. The firefly pickups are the only thing that makes it bad.

The made in usa casino reissue IS NOT like the one John Lennon played. It is a reissue of the first Casino (short headstock, plastic covers on the pickups).

We have to put an end once and for all to the nonsense of being made in the USA or made in China, if the Chinese product is worse it is because they are asked that way, the Chinese have the best fighter planes in the world, they are not going to be able to make a guitar like that. Minimum equal to those made in the USA? There they make whatever you want. Are iPhones cheap? and like those thousand other products of the best quality!!... are the Eastman bad?....

Simple, if you see a lot of comments on the posts, people tend to belittle what is made in China, justifying the very expensive prices of the mothers in the USA (which are so expensive only because of the cost of labor and the whims of Gibson) if Epiphone gave a budget to their China factory forto make an R8 they could make them equal to or better than the mother Gibson in the USA for 1/2 of the current price.... and whoever doesn't agree with that has no idea how trade with China works!!!
