Epiphyllum/Orchid Cactus Plant Care | Queen of the Night Plant Care Tips

I have 2 HUGE queens that were brought to my MIL over 40 yrs ago. That she has been propagating several for years and years. She past 2 on to me and the flowers that these queens bloom at night durning the summer for me in PA are as big as dinner plates. I have so many pics and videos of the blooms. I used jobes fertilizers sticks a few times a year. I water when it's super dry about every 1.5 weeks. I also have mime outside in the corner of my patio indirect sunlight. And on super hot days ill mist them. I put them in my basement when it gets colder and water them a few times untill they go back outside when it warms up. I let the roots come out the bottom to repot. I always wipe the leaves and propagating in water it so easy takes a few weeks but dirt works the same. This video is lovely!

My great grandmother had one thst she had for a very long time, she gave a cutting of it to my mother and I cared for it till I moved out and it died. My great grandmother is long gone, I wish I still had that clone

We have 2 large stems that have shot up from the plant in the last month (spring now) like your in your video. Are these new leaves or will they be where the flowers come out? Great Video, thank you for the tips, ours has been doing very well in the east facing bay window as well.

if the stem keeps growing longer and longer with no sign of a leaf, you will see ROOTS growing along this stem.it can grow over ten feet long with not a single leaf.cut this stem down at teh soil level and cut it into pieces however long you like and stick them back into the pot, shove them down in good and hard, no need for rooting hormones.shove it back down into the soil and water it.that is it.every single part of that plant will grow for you..just cut it and stick it.this plant will grow like a monster, you will see.no direct sun unless its morning sun.the leaves will grow off of the sides of the big leaves.

Mine bloomed now October 22 2022 in Puerto Rico, I have it outside. Most pf the day has no direct light, gets son sun on the afternoon. Has been doing good for 2 months. My mom’s neighbor gave it to me and it did had no buds.
