I don't care what anyone says, film photography is pure organic beauty. The way it is able to capture blur, colour, grain, tones, depth is something that a digital sensor does so badly. Even in 2019, film is miles ahead. MF, there is something so special about it and it's why I rarely use my D800 anymore. I find digital boring, ugly and the process just doesn't feel natural. I hope film sticks around for the rest of my lifetime.

how come some of your pictures turned out to be kind of green-ish, your friend's photos are alright. which film was he using? I think when I was using Kodak film, sometimes it's also kind of green I don't know why.

Sometimes can also be effected by the lab you use also I think, but yes I find that I often get a green tint in my shadows.

What lens was on the Mamiya? Looks like maybe the 65mm
@radicaleyemag6 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, I think it was an 80mm. Much wider than I usually shoot!
@Dscar16 жыл бұрын
Eye Culture Mag I own the 80 and it’s great. I think the best lens for the system although the 50 is amazing as well. The 150 I’ve heard people use for tighter shots but I find it hard to focus with it.

ARTELLI VLOG for portraiture definitely the pentax!
@Dscar16 жыл бұрын
For close portraiture the Pentax is better. You can’t get as close with the Mamiya for tight headshots. But For anything else i’d take the Mamiya. It’s lighter, quieter, and just as sharp.
@radicaleyemag6 жыл бұрын
The Mamiya is great for street photography as it has the quietest shutter I've ever used. I usually prefer to shoot tighter portraits though, so the Pentax would be my fav of the two.
@annaleenoot79855 жыл бұрын
Do you need there permission to post the photos? Do they need to sign anything so they cant sue you?

Technically yes. We didn't because we didn't expect anyone to watch these videos. They didn't sign anything but all agreed in person.

Love Ur channel guys! Keep up the good work, much prefer u over the negative feedback guys as u shoot portraiture and ppl as opposed to buildings 👍
@randallstewart1754 жыл бұрын
This seems to be one more of a hundred YT videos with a guy or two shooting a series of street photos with no narration explaining why or how they are going about it. For example, using a low contrast, low color saturation color film like Portra on a dark, cloudy low contrast day is an exercise in bad photography. That doesn't explain why all of the color shots made with the Mamiya show a strong (unacceptable) cyan color shift. That could be DIY color developing with used, semi-dead fixer, or scanning by someone who has no sense of color balance. Neither warrants a video.
@jasongold67512 жыл бұрын
I like the video BUT 6x6 and 6x7 are a whole new chapter! Hand held! Sorry but depth of field is a big, big problem. It's really shallow. Man with dog only one at a time in focus! (or none). Where one can get away with f8, f5.6 one soon looks for f11, f22 and f64! Lenses that one thinks is normal (50mm on 35mm), Fat Albert Pentax has a 105mm, which is great as portrait lens on 35mm. All lenses have same depth of field! So it's no free ride! I've used and sometimes still do Rolleiflex. Use at least 2 stops less with medium format. Yes! Tripod, 400 ISO film. Is it beautiful? Totally. Remember that depth of field scales on 35mm are from Oscar Barnack/ Leica 35mm inventor, for a 5"x7"print! Not any size! Bigger prints require smaller f-stops... Once you into doing really accurate shooting the quality and 'look' will make your 35mm gear cry. I however could not use my Pentax 6x7. It doubles it's weight every few feet from home. So enough of portable gym and survival nightmare for me! The Mamiya seemed more fluid, but SLR for me! I traded my Pentax for a Leica M6TTL that exposed more rolls in a few weeks than 20 years ownership.. ,Lets hear and see more adventures. Great possibilities. Bravo.

Would like this a lot more if it wasn’t a blatant copy of Negative Feedback. You guys have talent but good artists copy and great artists steal! Never forget this! Well done copy though haha 👌🏽

Bloody annoying Negative Feedback type musak.
@stainless8246 жыл бұрын
this is the exact same format as Negative feedback videos. No..... quite literally a carbon copy same editing, shots etc etc. Try to be a bit more original
@mpk336 жыл бұрын
Agree. Just not as well done as NF tho. Not even close. Some of the images are terribly composed. Seems to me like a digital shooter who went film for the hipster points, but has not much grasp of the basics or fundamentals. And the guests are actually trying to teach him how to shoot on these days out, which then become the videos.
@Himesarlo6 жыл бұрын
Literally say what you want about the editing (all young film shooter videos look exactly the same) but the shots are fantastic. Well composed well exposed. I don't see anything bad about it. A different style for sure compared to NF but the photos themselves are great.
