Great video, could you indicate methods of analyzing oil degradation by some expectroscopy for example?

Insightful discussion with Sanya on oxidation mechanisms. Does cavitation explosion create surface material particles follow explosion of air bubble post high pressure side? It must occur due to the force generated on the surface material?

Yes! The only thing I think is different though is that the highest temperature occurs a little downstream of the pump so in some circumstances the "explosion" may occur without contact, whereas the highest pressure (for cavitation) usually occurs at the pump face.

How yo know degradation of turbine lube oil ? What is the behaviour of particles of turbine lube oil when it's starts degradation ?

Sir, can you please explain me which factors in oil can influence in level decreasing (aromatics in base oil or what)

Nice interview, very informative! I'd like to understand oil settling (decantation) as a form of cleaning (indirect filtration) role of used oil recovery, as a mechanism of getting rid of degradation byproduct buildup. Natural Gravity or centrifuge process as a form to attain the removing of these degradation. I believe decantation is a better form of separation, compared to filtration, because of very small particles below, say 5 microns, aren't removed. Decantation is a more democratic form of separation than filtration, unless dispersants keep trapping and suspending the lighter smaller particles forever. Or if only rerefinig is the way to go. I'm a fan of Mobil 2s 😂

So this is true, but sometimes impractical because the size of the settling tank necessary would become really cumbersome. There are some companies looking to employ this on a wider scale by introducing flocculants and letting the particulate matter settle out.

@@LubricationExplained What you mean, by the tubes, a vertical Narrow but long tubes needed? Wouldn't it make more time to settle? Why not like the kind of fuel deposits in refineries?
