Im really happy they took their time with bringing back the old characters! Most would bring them back as soon as possible, leading to them overshadowing the new cast. So it makes me happy they only showed a few in G giving everyone a chance to actual get to know and enjoy the new cast.

You still get points, remember. And I know why. It's so no one has a clear advantage in the event by fighting anyone they've fought before (in most cases) or knowing what exactly the chalange of the branch is.

That I can understand, but you need a certain number of points to win the G quest. There are only a certain number of quests, you get 10 points for winning but only 1 for failing. So if you fail you only get one point and you won't be able to get enough points to win, especially if you can't re-challenge the quest.
