It's refreshing to hear someone talk about Margaret and tell the truth. A certain cable series portrays her so falsely that it's sickening: a direct slap on the faces of her descendants.

Thank you for this, what an interesting time. I'm a descendent of James IV through one of his mistresses Margaret Drummond. He's my grandfather about 17 times over. It's weird to think that she was around and knew about all of this stuff when it was going down.

Cool! I think I've heard of Margaret Drummond- was she the one who died not long before James IV married Margaret Tudor? I'm a descendant of James V & his mistress Euphemia Elphinstone, so I'm descended from Margaret Tudor too!

This was brilliant & so interesting! I learnt lots- like, I didn't know Margaret had to actually escape Scotland! I didn't know Henry VIII tried to withold a legacy from her either, but it doesn't surprise me. This all shows pretty well why I'm a big fan of Henry VII, & why I think Henry VIII was one of the worst British monarchs ever.

She was my 15th great grandmother. My direct line eventually immigrated to the us. My line from Margaret james v, James 1st Earl moray, Elisabeth Stuart gravin van moray, lord James 3rd Earl moray, James Stuart earl van moray, lady Margaret Douglas Stuart, at some point she immigrated to virginia while I do not live in Virginia most of my family still does from this side. Continuing George Sutherland, George Sutherland II, Samuel Sutherland, Philemon Sutherland, Mary Polly Sutherland, Hope Ann Powell, stopping at my great great grandfather Robert Bernard. If anyone is as interested as I am definitely read up on war of the roses and Elizabeth of woodville who was my 17th great grandmother. If looking into the Stuart’s be careful not to confuse all the James’s literally had to investigate my own tree to just keep all the James’s separated and had to look at who really married who so my tree didn’t get all jumbled up 😂🤣😂🤣

Thanks for this...Margaret Tudor's descendants are a confusing lot. Mary Stuart (of the ROYAL Stewarts) marries Henry Stuart ...BOTH of whom are children of Margaret's children (though not by the same husband). Mary and Henry (Lord Darnley) having the same last name made this even MORE confusing, because the NAME has nothing to do with the consanguinity. Since I watch these things at 2am...they can make my head spin
@beth7935

The Stuart name does indicate another, more distant consanguinity though- Darnley's father Matthew Stuart was descended from James II.

I'm not sure I can take you seriously when you appear to be a pirate ("thar" you "sreading" lies! - say it in a Cornish accent ten times fast, and suddenly you're Captain Hook). This seemed very accurate based on everything I've read about Margaret. This also doesn't present the more uncertain details as fact, if you listen to the language. Whenever they say something that isn't documented, you hear a lot of words like "I think," "perhaps," and "probably."

hteysko ...poor Eda probably watched The Tudors where "Margaret" is married off to the king of Portugal. Not sure why they called her Margaret (when it was Mary, and she married the king of France), unless it was to avoid confusion with the OTHER Princess Mary (Henry VIII's daughter). Hollyweird and its ilk take ridiculous liberties with the truth. The Other Boleyn Girl (movie) has almost absolutely NOTHING in common with the book, aside from a few quotes.
