Honestly, Spencer and Aarons vocals lift each other up. I don't care who wrote the line, who sang the line or who sang the most during a song. The combined vocals is what makes it so damn good. Furthermore, you guys are amazingly good at allowing every single instrument to shine, both accompanied by others and by its own. Keep being awesome 😍😃

Voyurist is an incredible achievement. The live performance of the album blew me away and I’ve been listening to it nonstop all year. Just hearing them still playing brings tears to my eyes and encourages me to keep perfecting my own crafts. I couldn’t be happier for the band and I cant wait to see what comes next.

Completely could relate to Tim’s story about his reaction after reading the comments from their single release of “on my teeth” As a huge fan, I had goosebumps for days after they announced they were making music again. When I first heard their singles from Erase Me, I had those same thoughts, “Alright, this is sick, but i’m hoping the rest of the album has more in store for us”. I ultimately wasn’t blown away with Erase Me. I was still ecstatic that they were back but I was selfishly hoping for something different. I don’t want to be too critical of any work of art though, for I have never been in that process myself to know how hard it is. When approaching Voyeurist, I was honestly apprehensive. I knew I was going to support them by buying and listening to the album but I wasn’t sure what to expect. I kept thinking back to my overall verdict on Erase Me, and I hate to admit but I had my expectations low. They announced the digital ghost concert and I was even hesitant to get a ticket to that. Holy Shit am I ever so glad I did. That experience melted me. It was incredible. Each song kept providing a sound that I didn’t know I had been longing for. I listened/rewatched that concert 7-8 times while we had the 48 hour access to it. The music hit me so hard I started crying the 3rd song in during “I’m pretty sure I’m out of luck…” when Spencer breaks the song open and screams…then after wiping my tears away from crying like a baby I realized we had more than half of a mostly unheard album ahead us and was never more excited for new music in my life. I’ll shut up but last thing I’ll say - I’m with Matt, the Digital Ghost version of the album is remarkable and is also my favorite. You will be doing yourself a huge favor by taking the time to experience that.

1:10:00 You underestimate your audience. When listening the record on day of release, that was one of the first things i picked up. Right as the last song ended i realized it was the start to the fist song, and the the first song played again, and i knew it was intentional.

It’s so crazy that they are so unhappy with it’s only chasing safety when it’s by far the most popular and well know album. Without that album I don’t think they would be as big as they are if it wasn’t for that album. That must be super hard for them to have people craving those songs when that’s what they don’t particularly want to play or make another album of. And I’ve been a fan since the very first album with the super heavy cries of the past stuff.

Underoath should release digital ghost as a live album like they did with survive kaleidoscope or the live albums they released in 2020 and 2021.

I believe Voyeurist is an objectively better project than Erase Me. I like most of Erase Me but it wasn't a record for us. It was something else. And I understand evolution. Things change. Experiments happen. It's natural. I just felt odd when Spee said "this album needs to piss people off." Voyeurist doesn't piss me off and I love it for it and I guarantee you these new cuts will get alot more play from me.

The power struggle in this band is so evident in these interviews. I don't see Underoath together in 5 years. Weird vibes across the board from every aspect of this record release and behind the scenes footage... disappointing really.
@chrissavage52982 жыл бұрын
That's the way its always been with them though. They claim they've been more transparent with each other (their blow up from episode 0, etc), but just because you vent doesn't mean you are healed from the way you process life. Love the dudes and Voyeurist is a solid album, but their egos are still there. They take themselves way too seriously. Based on what I've seen of this JJ dude though, he seems really down to earth. So that's probably why there's been progress internally during the creation of this album. Hopefully it gains momentum. Again, been a fan since Chasing Safety, and Voyeurist was great, not bashing them. Just my thoughts on the subject lol

How they think Damn Excuses is heavier than Breathing In A New Mentality is beyond me, BIANM is feral and chaotic and Damn Excuses is just kinda generic metal.
