As a Germna who only recently discovered the Dark Eye as a real alternative to DnD I am thrilled to watch people discover this game for themselves. Very nice. And I love the over the top black mage who seems just a genuinely nice and easy-going person. That's so refreshing.

nice job, very entertaining session. a few notes on made mistakes and unclear rules that came up: 1.effects of the same source dont stack. only the most powerful is active and the duration might get reset. it does not matter if the effect source is magical, alchemical or divine. (that means the second quality 1 horriphobus does not increase the fear of the goblin, only reset the duration) 2.fate points cannot be used to re-roll critical fails according to the rules as written. that being said, my groups and i have houseruled the same as you did here. effects stack and fate points can be used for critical fails/fumbles. 3.the goblin with the dagger (weapon range short) vs spear (weapon range long) has a penalty on his attacks of a -4 if he attacks the player with the long weapon.

Luckily no one told Tariq that Havena is actually one of the two cities in the empire where magic is strictly forbidden :D For context, Havena is actually mostly inspired by the German city of Hamburg, so the culture would northern German (think more danish then bavarian :D).

I started my Dark Eye fandom as a young teen in the 90s with Realms of Arkania: II Star Trail; which has been remastered along with its predecessor Blade of Destiny. Damn awesome games.

I rly love your gm style. It reminds me a bit of adam koebel a bit it's very cinematic. Im not sure if you, playing the English version of the game, could have known this but the people of Havena are deeply afraid of magic and magic is forbidden within the city. So the black mage should have a rly hard time within the city. But (!) that's not rly an issue. As someone who is so stuck in the lore of this world and surrounded by people who cite books from the 80s for lore stuff it is rly refreshing to see your take on the setting. I especially love Tariq and his take on Fasar. P.s. You got some of the rule wrong which is not important. Just be aware if someone new to the system watches this to learn the rules.

While I'm really enjoying this, Tariq's player is so loud that I keep turning down the volume, only to have to turn it back up to hear the other players... then having to quickly turn it back down due to Tariq's player's constant outburst hurting my ears. Seems there is almost always one player in actual play videos and podcasts who is soo much louder that it takes away the enjoyment for me of trying to listen to the play. Edit: Yep, had to give up, an hour and twenty minutes in his very loud sudden laughs and on going too loud volume compared to the rest of the players just made it so I couldn't finish it. Too bad too, I really like his character but he's just too damn loud.
