Acq Inc. Series 2 review: + It's great to have Jim back ("Vertical slit? That was my nickname in high school!" Mike should seriously do standup) + You can really feel some character development with Omin + All the Omin and Certainty stuff really work (It shouldn't work but it's a credit to Jasmine and Jerry that it does work) - Bobby doesn't have much to do (I really like Xavier as a player but Bobby as a character just feels like window dresssing) - Yet again there is no progression on the Omin/Evelyn front (Can you believe that their relationship has been more or less static since, what, 2018? If the players are unwilling to progress the relationship in any way then either Chris or Jeremy need to force a change. I don't care if they end up together or if they have a falling out, as long as there is some kind of resolution or confrontation)
@jonjones509211 ай бұрын
The after episodes (not before episodes) really add some context to your cons which I generally sympathize with. Here's hoping the liveshow puts it on stage too.
@user__21411 ай бұрын
The Omin development has been engaging, but also a little disconnected from Omin of the recent past. Omin has truly been a bastard for the past several years' worth of live games. We haven't seen that side of him much in this series, which is strange. You could chalk it up to "the party has more important things to do", but in that case it means his character still hasn't changed.
@InsidiousJazz11 ай бұрын
@@user__214 All good points. I do think it's been pretty clear that he cares about at least some of the people around him though (Certainty and Evelyn come to mind). I get the sense that his changing behavior is tied to how his shady actions have impacted the people around him but I might be reaching.
@ThePartyGecko11 ай бұрын
@@InsidiousJazz I'd also say that there's a little more to it than that. Historically, Omin's been working under the (rather cynical) assumption that there's "always tomorrow" to fix things. That he'll /always/ have another chance - another Clone, another timeline, another dimension, another deal, another contract - and that he'll be able to out-wit all consequences given enough of these infinite rolls of the dice. But with Jim, with Certainty, with Tymora, with everything lately, he's been increasingly facing consequences that he's been unable to actually wriggle out of. A lot of that's seen echoing with the consequences of all the Jim stuff, because he's completely unmoored without him, and his actions have burned through all but maybe this last opportunity to try to fix things with him, and even then it's not the same Jim, and he's having to reassess what's actually important and how to protect /those/ things in light of the loss. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIazqGCjnbqJg5ofeature=shared&t=4083 to the :35 quote is the important bit. "We just have to be the best people we can at absolutely every moment, and hope that's the last version of the story."

My appreciation for Jeremy Crawford has really been lifted to a new level this series. At the same time, I've missed Chris Perkins so much, so glad to see him herd these monsters again. The gut-wrenching episode 8 and now this gripping finale with its own share of gut punches, it will be hard to get back to only getting a drip feed of this storyline. Series 3 when??

Years ago, I discovered on the interwebs an 'old' (from early 2000s) live play with a DM whose name was familiar, so I watched the video and then went looking for more and dug out every Pax recording of this hilarious game that I could find. The name Acquisitions incorporated would stick in my head since then with fading chants of green flame surrounding it. fast forward and and Acquisitions incorporated came back but with other players at the table. Still, it turned out great rejoiced when another Pax hit the yea old KZbin. Today, this tag-team-Dm adventure....what a ride friends, what a ride....

Every note and then they’d drop a bomb on you in the feels with a big reveal, but they were somewhat rare compared to other live plays.
