This is so important in this time, in history, with so much fantasy thinking.

Thank you for excellent insights and lesson on metaphors... I'm gonna keep sharing everything you teach us Dr. Jennings and Team! God bless!

I would love to see Tim have the podcast with Ty Gibson and David Asscherick. This would provide indepth analysis to the subject explored and provide more of a challenge towards Tim's ideas and equal out the discussion. At the moment the podcast is too one sided with Tim's dominant lead who provides most of the answers which make the other two appear like students dependent on the teacher for learning.

Would be surreal to have a table talk with different speakers from other Christian denominations. It’s one thing to have a conversation with people that believe the same thing as you, but there’s many intelligent people in other denominations that definitely are gifted as well. I’d like to see Dr.Jennings challenged (well intended!)

Yes, totally agree with you.

"Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him, and afflicted." (Isaiah 53:4 NIV) Even in Scripture, it is plainly spelled out that humanity, as a whole, would misunderstand what the Messiah's mission was and what happened on the cross. The tragedy is overwhelming.... 😢

It was mentioned in the podcast how some people don't like the Father and prefer Jesus over the Father. Thinking about this, in many ways our first experience or understanding of God as a child is through our parents. If we had parents that were often angry or highly judgmental and critical that can end up becoming an internalized subconscious understanding of God's character. Then as adults we end up projecting our experience of our parents onto God (as we often also do onto a spouse). Which ends up impeding our ability to be in a deep intimate relationship with God, because who wants to be in a deep intimate relationship with someone who is angry and critical of us. I think one aspect of Jesus's mission on Earth was to bypass those projections. We end up funneling our projections based on our childhood experience of our parents onto the member of the Trinity, God the Father. But God bypasses those projections through Jesus. It is a process, as we come to know Jesus and his character of love, entering into an intimate relationship with Jesus, and through that relationship beginning to heal childhood wounds, we can then come to see that Jesus and the Father are one and share the same character of love.

In German the word for Wednesday is “mittwoch” which means mid week. Another evidence through language that the seventh day is the sabbath.

Is it possible that everything in scripture has a metaphorical application, but some of the writings - such as those seen in visions are only metaphorical?

Can you share on this platform why Jesus did not die the second death.

I heard in SDA churches that the term “son of God” is metaphor, what do you think about this? I particularly don’t believe that!
@kevinj.mullins6995Ай бұрын
I don't believe that either, and neither did the Adventist founders. If the Sonship of Christ is a metaphor, then our sonship and daughtership is only metaphorical as well.

nope Tim, you don't trust the Genesis account - your trust extends to ONLY first five verses of ch.1! and STOPS with the 6th: RWV+, Gen 1:6: "6 And God said, Let there be a FIRMAMENT in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." - but that's just fyi side note...

That is not true. God did not make woman from Adam's tissue, but Adam's literal BONE.
@vernegarlock4169Ай бұрын
Bone is living tissue that makes up the body's skeleton. There are 3 types of bone tissue: Compact tissue. This is the harder, outer tissue of bones. Bones are connective tissues. I hope that your will look or research what bone is so you will have a better understanding before you accuse brethren falsely.

They relate the blood to the sacrificial system described in *Leviticus,* without applying the principle of what that blood represents - His life "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ *17:11*
