This "evolution of technology" argument doesn't work when you consider how a lot of sports have banned equipment only at the professional level. F1 doesn't use ABS, certain shoes for marathon runners are banned because of "mechanical doping", a lot of golf clubs made before 2010 have illegal grooves but they are fine to play with if you aren't a professional. We had swimsuits that were later banned as they were considered "unfair".

Moses the voice of reason here again, the game will be dead in 5-19 years if we keep going like this. Rules need to be made to preserve the game for the long term, otherwise its a lucky dip. For a community that's got enough issues, this is one that's not helping in the slightest, swift decision needed.

The advantage is not that big? The edge is minimal? Rush is smoking something. Optimus made a video about this Snap-Tap situation and tested it and it takes 60-70ms less to be completely accurate with the snap-tap counter-strafe compared to a manual one. That is a LOOT in pro scene. One missed counter-strafe can be the difference between a kill and not. Snap-tap removes human error in counter-strafing that is actually a skill that needs to be mastered and not even pros doesn't counter-strafe perfect 100% of the times.
@combinemetro2 ай бұрын
Have you actually used either of these keyboards? You still have to counter-strafe. It doesn't 'remove human error'. This is simply the evolution of keyboards going forward. Why not argue against higher HZ monitors and wireless mice? Because you know that would be ridiciulous. In a year this entire situation will be water on the bridge and this will be accepted going forward. This is how technology advances.
@trumanphan17702 ай бұрын
Agreed
@dylfps2 ай бұрын
For people with already good counterstrafes (maybe 1 frame of overlap) snaptap will make you maybe 15ms faster. If you are already shit at counterstrafing, then snap tap will help considerably.
@trumanphan17702 ай бұрын
@@combinemetro I don't think people are arguing against those since they're not affecting actual game mechanics that people have to learn and get good at to actually be good.
@craigswords2 ай бұрын
@@combinemetro It's human error because it removes an element of what people can mess up; wireless mice and higher hz are completely different, they remove external error by allowing you to get a more responsive, smoother experience, it doesn't give you an inherent advantage in a skill, aiming is still aiming. The feature literally disables your other strafe so you can't mess up a skill. The difference here is that something is literally being done for you that makes it so the player needs to focus less on it.

Of all the Talkshows and all the people I follow in CS. Talking counter had probably the most acceptable take on Skyesports. Rather than going out and dismissing India as whole. They talked about shortcomings of Skyesports. Things they can do to fix it and things that will impact tournaments in Future. As an Indian, I want to watch more CS in India and believe me, power cut and infrastructure issues was effect of a stupid decision by Sky to conduct the tournament in Mumbai during Monsoon. This is one time during the entire calender Mumbai will have powercuts due to safety regulations. Otherwise, Indian Infrastructure is pretty capable of handling eSports tournaments. Thank you for no discounting Indian Fans like so many CS people are doing ! We love the game and want to watch it more.

rush doesn't understand the core thing about snap tap. its main advantage is you avoid overlapping keypresses, which always gives you better movement/counter strafes. it's kinda like an aimbot but for movement. it assists you with something. it gives you a big edge. and can make a bad player strafe like a decent player

Really disappointed in the snap tap conversation. All it would've taken is for all of you guys to just watch optimum techs video on it to understand what it actually does. This was a pointless discussion when none of you know what it actually is. How is it just an evolution in technology when null binds have been in the game since 1.6? Wooting even acknowledged that it is cheating and they could've already been the first to it before razor but didn't for that reason. Ultimately it completely removes an important part of the mechanic of counter-strafing which is core to the skill of playing count-strike. If you want CS to be more like Valorant then just say that instead.

Snap tap / equivalents are clearly an advantage, but I don't know what we can do about it. Even if Valve + TO's came down hard and said those features and null scripts can't be used at events, it's not possible to police online things, let alone comp/premier, and valve is keen on the game being "the same/similar" at all levels. Moses makes a salient point though, I don't know what we do about "the next" technology that may be more invasive.
@SoniFPS2 ай бұрын
Online is always at risk for cheating. Thats just the nature of it. Still doesn't mean it has to be the same on all levels. In professional sports there is also things banned at the highest level that are ok for casuals. Furthermore i do think it could be detectable, there was a guy on reddit who already went through demos and just looked for people who never sent an A and D input at the same time. Pros that didnt use it had 100+ or even 1000+ ticks of double inputs sent. Pros who use it obviously have 0. So retroactively its very much detectable. Faceit can do this sort of analysis aswell

if snap tap doesnt "make any difference", it might as well be a default bind in CS2. Also, nvidia literally had a wall hack in their graphics card a few years ago. Now, should that be allowed?

Spunj knows au cs could be so much better. He clearly was frustrated with the flyquest move because the boys seemingly are adamant about not having any roster moves for the time being. That, to me, doesn't sound like AUCS bias at all. The only 'bias' he has for the region is that he actually wants it to be competitive. I'd assume he wouldn't be against NA being better as well, so I dont really see the points made by that guy. 59:00

I think Vitality’s problem is a personality one. I think everyone is fine in their role, but all the conversation about Apex having to play impact roles for info cause no players he had will secondary call and the talk of Twistz coming in points the finger at Spinx or FlameZ. I would imagine Spinx cause FlameZ can run through a brick wall.

Fuck half-time breaks. WHY?! Who thought this nonsense was needed? There are so many technical and tactical breaks in CS already, you can run ads all the damn time. And if it's an expected break (like half-time breaks are) viewers will get up and go to the toilet, get snacks, drinks, do something else for a few minutes any way and nobody will sit there and watch an AD. Who the hell honestly still watches ads in general? If your website actually manages to defeat my adblocker I will just mute the tab and switch to a different one for a few minutes. Good for you though, you forced my browser to download an ad I didn't watch. You did it.

Snap tap is legit because it removes any remaining latency from keyboards and makes the user be the final latency point. If you seriously can't counter strafe even with snap tap, then quit the game, you're just not good enough. It's like people blaming their PC for being bad, or their monitors. If we give you the most OP set up and you still can't get past face it level 5, it's you bro not the PC. Same with the keyboard snap tap feature. I tried it, its mid, im so used to not using it that I would have to adapt to using it. My feel is all off with it. But is it crisper? More precise? 100% because my strafes are INSTANT the moment I press the key. So it's ME making the call when to strafe and it happening as close to real time to my bodily reflexes as possible.

@LeominsterFC2 ай бұрын
You already are making the call when to strafe, you just currently have to let go of one key then press the other. Why is that hard to understand? I’m not for or against it, but to say it’s not lowering the skill ceiling is just incorrect. You already can perfectly counterstrafe, you just need to release the first button before pressing the second. Just because YOU don’t like it doesn’t make it fair. You have an inherent advantage being able to press two keys at once compared to someone who can’t.
