This week we show how to break down and install the fold down floor for the 1967 Mustang Fastback 2+2. We'll be using the parts from National Parts Depot to get the trim panels in. we'll also give some tips on how to get the panels to align and install correctly. We also prove that reproduction parts aren't the only parts that can cause problems.
Thanks for watching!

Yes. Jeff spent four hours of solid work getting the rear of the car to look great. We'll be going over that soon!

Thanks for the kind words! We've never considered that problem. U.S. Standard tools might be a real issue over there. We'd recommend going to local internet forums for American cars and get their recommendations on European sources for U.S. standard tools.

Is there 2 or 4 bumpers at the trap door (68)?

Did you have clearance issues with the deck and the side trim? My Shelby seems to clear on the driver's side lower trim, but I am just rubbing slightly on the passenger side.The roll bar creates another group of problems on its own. I tried getting the deck to twist just slightly, but It doesn't seem to change. Have you had to open the hinge holes up to jog the deck to one side or the other in the past?

Yeah, we've had to tweak many of them. I've never had to re drill the mounts though. We also will re-drill the side panel holes in the side panels to even up the openings.

Hey Auto RestoMod guys, I am doing a resto on a 68 f/b and when I got the car the vent windows were disassembled. Of course the hardware was gone. Do you have any idea were I can find the top of the division bar. The one you said not to lose? I have looked in all the same old places and I will need to buy the whole assembly. The rest of the vent window is in good shape. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Excellent video,thanks a lot guys, when I purchased my mustang it was missing the fold down seat altogether. I recently purchased a fold down assembly and all the chrome etc.. I have one question tough, I don`t have any of the brackets to connect the seat to the body. Does it only have the 2 brackets where the middle sections hinges connects to the body? or are there other brackets besides the ones I can see at 9:51?
@AutoRestoMod
@AutoRestoMod 8 жыл бұрын
+serx1984 Yep, the back is held in place with those two brackets. There are others for the deck plate but they are back toward the trap door.

+AutoRestoMod Muscle Car Resto and Modifications thanks a lot,I have put in the two piece,I had to custom make the brackets for them,any idea what holds the deck plate in place? I've searched everywhere but couldn't find an answer. it has 2 big holes towards the trap door on the floor and nothing else. there isn't anything under the trap door to hook it up either

I know it's been a while, but on the back section of the fold down seat, the one next to the trap door, what really is the purpose of the chrome/ss seat supports. I'm referring to the two oval pieces screwed into that last section. My seat is not yet put in the car, but I can't see how they serve a purpose. The trap door swings up away from them. The L-shaped front section of the seat folds over the middle section. Do the stop bumpers on the edge of the L-shaped front section of the seat fit into those supports when the tray table...er, I mean the seat, is in its upright and locked position...? I ask because my fold down is missing those oval seat supports. Do I really need them? Also, one of my L shaped trim pieces ( the piece that I see in your video having the rectangular hole for the seat latch) has no rectangular hole. It's just an L shaped flat piece of trim. And by gosh, this seat looks very original based on its condition. In fact, the piece of trim that does have a rectangular hole does not have screw holes for the latch guide cover that screws on top of the hole. My car is an early 1968 model built in January of 68. I understand those L pieces were different than later 68s and on (all flat rectangle hole with no bends), but I can't believe only one side latched. Any knowledge of the early 68s? Do you think this was in fact a non-fold seat? It would be interesting if it is given I have the three seat sections (vs. the masonite back section), and I have a trap door. But, it would explain the trim.

Can you add some detail on how to install the deck panel between the rear seat and the trap door to the trunk? I need to installed fasters to keep it bolted in place, but don't know what parts, bolts and nuts are needed. Appreciate any help.

I've watched several of your videos and never do I ever see you actually finish anything, nor do you show how anything functions when complete, just a looooot of talking. I will be starting my own channel for those who actually want to learn something.

Awesome Mr Brooks and let me know via email me when you do, your channel has been active for six years. Hopefully you have learned mighty lessons in that time that will help you be better than me. So, I await it with eager anticipation. My email is jford@autorestomod.com. As to us never finishing anything, does an entire Mustang not count? We complete tasks all the time so I feel that you are off base.
