Welcome back! I missed having your podcasts to watch. Glad to see you arrived safely and are settling in to your new home. We recently adopted two young kittens and the yarn battle is real. I think if you found a way to hang your advent calendars it could possibly deter your feline friend and make them easy to get to and film. We always had our advent calendars hung when I was a child. I love the knit swag shop, I’m going to purchase the graph paper today, I’ve been trying to graph out a skunk pattern for my 4 year old granddaughter who loves skunks and there just doesn’t seem to be any good skunk patterns out there. I have a pattern for a fox and I think I can adapt it and then put it on a hat for her, but I can’t seem to get it right using regular graph paper.I’m pretty sure the knit paper will help. I was planning on buying some, I love that this one has actual knit stitches. I also can’t believe that I don’t own a single “knitting” related coffee mug, this definitely needs to be remedied.

I am so glad you all made it safe to your new home! I'm glad to see you back. With moving you defiantly got a lot done. I went onto gradmasknit and grabbed some of those square needles. I have square needles and love them but do not have them in a size for socks. Now I will. I'm so happy. I also went onto Knit Swag and love her mugs. I grabbed a scrappy Sunday mug and some tags. My favorite thing in her store however I did not pick up yet and it was her project journals. :0)

Purl in the Pines was a shop I visited on our cross country trip driving our son’s truck to him in California!! The non-time change worked out so well for being able to stop there. We started the day in Amarillo,TX and made it to AZ so I could have time to buy yarn for a remembrance of our trip!!!

I'm also in the Christmas spirit, and I can't wait to get everything decorated and my Christmas sweater finished! An episode about the beading would be wonderful, I'd like to try something with beads, but it's pretty daunting at the moment. Knit swag has some of the cutest knitting mugs I've seen! I just finished watching this entire video and, wow, I’m impressed with how much knitting you completed during your move! The Anchor sweater is amazing, especially the color of the yarn. Beautiful! And the beading on your other sweater is lovely. I placed beads on a knitted scarf many years ago. It seems the process would be considerably more complicated on an entire sweater, especially if you want them to be evenly spaced. You did it marvelously. Can’t wait to see the finished sweater. Hope your sons will continue to adjust-the recent issues have been a struggle for a lot of kids out there. Thank you for this video, Kay! Love the Scrappy Sunday mug.

It’s great to see you back. I had not been watching long before you paused for the move and I realized in a short time as a viewer, I felt quite endeared to you. Thanks for sharing all your projects and links! I liked how you spoke about knitting several pairs of socks in a certain style (2 circs, etc.) to get a fair experience. All too often I try once and decide something is not for me yet in another area of my life, I suggest that folks try something six different times before deciding. I should heed my own advice. Hey There! You and family made it. CONGRATULATIONS!! Hope all of you really love everything about where you live. Enjoyed vcast and all the projects and given blessings. Good to see you.. Now you get to use more weights of yarn in a four season state. As for Advent yarns, partial lacy round neck cozies, mittens, fitted hats, lacy mini skirts that fit around jeans as a fashion statement, hip scarves that fit around hip from waist, around jeans like a hip scarf, and well, can't go without at least a shawlette to fit under coat around neck and shoulders. Hi! I am new to this group. This year I am doing the Arne & Carlos advent Christmas Balls. These are new patterns, in addition to the Christmas Balls in their book. I can hardly wait to get started today. I just moved and much of the yarn stash is in storage until our house is finished so my Balls this year will be scrappy using leftover sock yarn. Happy knitting! (Arne & Carlos have lots of You Tube videos.)

Over the years I've been making my adult children and their children cross-stitch stockings. When I got to one of the children (aged about 7) she asked for a knitted one. The beautiful pattern we picked did not have a space for a name and she said not to add it. In the end, I used some Aida cloth and made a lovely cross stitch tag with her name on it and attached it so it is easily removed down the road if she passes it on or whatever.

I have multiple advents (I think I had three last year). This year I have one 24 day advent that I’ll be doing the Dust of Snow Wrap with. I also have a 12 stripe that I’ll be doing 12 days of knitting by Cori Eichelberger. I also have a jam advent from Bon Maman. And a stitch marker on from AdoreKnits. And a chocolate one from Lindt and a sock one from MintRain. In the year of Covid, no such thing as too many advents. Last year, I started (but didn’t finish) the Habitation Throw with one advent, Perfect Blend by Casapinka with a 12 day advent, Adventurer wrap/scarf from Ambah O”Brien, and I’ve been thinking of attempting Norah’s Vintage Afghan making each square out of a mini, but I’m not sure I have enough yarn in each mini as it wasn’t designed for fingering weight. I may just do the radvent throw by Ambah instead. I could probably use that as an additional advent this year because it’s still all wrapped up and I’ve forgotten what all the yarns look like.

I can't wait to see Wyatt's stocking. You may want to consider getting a Happy Light, it helps people with SAD seasonal depression due to less sun light in the winter and people that have moved from a sunny climate to a less sunny climate. Kay- an idea I saw for the Christmas stockings is to put little metal/brass tags on the stocking with their name. And as the stockings are passed down, you add the new user names. Then you have a “history” of the stocking & family members
