It's been a while since I have tuned in and it's great to see you, your garden (those peonies are gorgeous!) and your makes. I'm happy to see, too, the yarns because your choices mesh with my preferences and ideas. You are super prolific 😊 It's inspiring 👍🏾

So excited to see your Summer Saunter! I'm making mine out of a cotton/linen blend and have just finished the short rows on the back. This is my first sweater and I'm anxious. Seeing yours and reading your excellent notes on Ravelry *really* helps! I wasn't thrilled with the look of the folded sleeves and I love what you did mirroring the neckline on the sleeves. I really appreciate your attention to detail, your notes, and the way you talk through your process and decisions. Thank you so much. :)

Just found your channel! I have fallen in love with the project bags featured in the thumbnail for this video! Did you make them? Do you have a video Featuring them?

Welcome! I do make a lot of my project bags and I don't follow any specific tutorial/pattern. I talk a little about my project bag process in a video linked in this video (and actually answer your questions in the video!).

Stephanie, you are like a beautiful energizer bunny.Your energy and enthusiasm are so inspiring and enjoyable I absolutely loved how you altered the sleeves on your Summer Saunter top. The eyelet sleeves compliment the top better than the original sleeves I think

Hi Stephanie: Thanks for another uber podcast! Besides getting up early in the morning to get some knitting in, read, or write my diary, I make it a point to go for my morning walks to my local park before the cars start zooming non-stop. It is awesome that I live in close proximity to a marsh, with a nature trail, and across the street, a good size park where people walk, run, or exercise. It is great to be able to see a body of water, occasional ducks waddling by, and birds singing. Best of all, it is all free. It is good for my mental health. Additionally, I enjoy gardening with the little bit of space I have. I enjoy growing my figs and flowers organically. It helps me destress and keeps me grounded! I try to eat as healthy as possible because of age and health problems. I try to not let things bother me so much any more, so I can be less stress! Thanks for sharing! Wishing you and your family an awesome, restful, and relaxing summer! Happy knitting and gardening! ❤

I love Abby Jimenez books!!! I just finished The Queen's Rising duology that you recommended, and I devoured them so quickly. Kind of sad it's only a duology. Love all your acquisitions. I need to get started on several of those tees that I said LAST YEAR that I would make a second of.... once I clear my needles 😅 Self-care is so important, and so much more than just a spa day. For me, it also means taking care of my mental health and checking in with my therapist even when I don't think I "need" it.

I’m currently enjoying “Part of Your world” by Jimenez and I recently started the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. Yay for self-care! Talk soon friend 💙

Yay for summer, flowers, ankle socks, tanks & tees…!!! Pretty blues & greens! Have some similar in variegated in stash… ripple camisole or some sort of easy top. Can’t say “quick”, as fingering wt on US # 2, 3 or 4 takes a bit of time, but the end result is usually fabulous! About to start upper part of Oolong tank. Need to make sure of measurements, gauge is different, so will need to modify. Love the lace pattern on this! Thanks for a jam-packed, fun & inspiring episode! PS: I too find some yarns stick to the silicone cords. Can be a lengthy process getting sts on/off! (That’s when I start growling…). Still prefer these cords on larger pieces (ie: 200-300+ sts), tho!

Definitely not quick but yes, the end result makes it worthwhile!!!! Thanks for spending some time with me and for joining in on the conversation!!!!

❤Love catching up! I totally think self care doesn't have to be fancy, sometimes it's just practical things we put off. I had a self care haircut and when the stylist asked about my day I was like "I'm trying to fit in things I put off too long." and that i suddenly realized it was the LAST day of school and I was out of lots of alone time.😂❤

What a glorious way to start my morning! (MJ is sleeping in and I’m drinking coffee at the start of summer break.) your finished objects and flowers from your garden are so amazing. I also love squishy socks in my hiking boots and find great satisfaction in using up all of a beautiful yarn. Thanks for inspiring me and keeping me company 🩷🩷🩷

Your summer saunter looks so lovely! I also just bound off my first tee in cattail silk, and found it so interesting. I was expecting it to be slippery and difficult to knit with, but I liked it more than I had imagined, so I bought more during their Memorial Day sale!

Another great podcast. Always makes my day more enjoyable. I have a question that I'm hoping you might be able to help me with since you knit many beautiful top down sweaters. If a pattern asks you to cast on 74 stitches for your neck band using a 4.5mm needle, what size of cord and needle length would you recommend using? I seem to have difficulty joining in the round and need to stretch out the stitches too much. Thank you
@EdibleThoughtsMakes7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I like using 16" circulars on neckbands. If it's a v-neck or more open neckline, I can sometimes use a 24" but typically I use a 16". If I don't have the right size needle and cord length combo, I'll use a 40" and knit using the magic loop method. Hope that helps!

I really liked "The Fox Wife." There are a couple of parts of the story where the writing felt awkward, but otherwise I like Choo's writing style. Yes, a lot of grief in this story, but I didn't feel overburdened or overwhelmed at the end. Snow's character was intriguing.

I love your socks. I am new to knitting socks. I have been knitting socks for myself but I want to knit socks for my daughters too. What are your stitch counts for your kids' socks? Thanks.
@EdibleThoughtsMakes8 ай бұрын
Totally different depending on the kid and your gauge! You’ll have to play around. You could start with 48sts, 52sts, or 56sts on a US1/2.25mm but again it’s different for everyone. Ribbed socks have more give.

I just finished Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. I definitely like Rom-coms especially as a break after something heavy. I liked how one character had a lot of autistic traits and the other didn't really seem autistic but completely accepted and celebrated their differences.

Embracing people for who they are by doing things that meet them where they are is such a beautiful act of love and empathy.
