I was at Giants Stadium too. June 11, 1993. My first McCartney live experience. I remember the pure joy I felt. Like all my Xmas mornings as a kid rolled up into one great night

This is a great episode. It is also a great reminder of the unique personalities and insights each of you bring to the table. You complement each other so very well. I also always enjoy the format. And I super appreciate every episode’s thorough news segment!

I had no idea critics were mad that Paul released this album only a few years after Tripping. Another reason I don't attention to critics, besides Allan Kozinn. I enjoy the soundcheck songs quite a lot. I had no idea he did so many other songs that weren't on but if it was a 2 cd set he could include so many more great songs. I'm a really big fan of this live album and the studio album that preceded it. I heard Paul Is Live before Off The Ground and loved Off The Ground more because of this live album. It sounds like based on what you 4 said Paul should produce an archive version of this album and add the live tracks that weren't on this originally.

the live version of Hope Of Deliverance on this album has over 10m streams! By far the one with the most, like the song is on Off The Ground.

I went to two of Paul's three London shows in September 1993 and it was great to see him play live again so soon after the 1989/90 world tour. As everyone has said Paul's voice was in better shape in 93 than it was in 89/90, but I think as a live experience I think 89/90 was a better show, despite Paul struggling through Maybe I'm Amazed and Jet particularly. As for Paul Is Live it's an okay souvenir of the tour but like Tripping it's not one I go back to that often. I did get a chance to talk to Robbie McIntosh a couple of times over the last few years and he said that he had nothing but positives working with Paul.

Most folk don't realise there is only one song found on both Tripping the Live Fantastic and Paul is Live and that's Live and Let Die. Every other song is different, over a triple album and a double album.

I was at Giants stadium too for Paul on June 1993! I like the soundcheck songs on the live albums but agree some great songs were not included on the Paul is Live! CD and should have.

I was there, too. "Off the Ground" shook the stadium and it disappointed me that the song did not make it to the concert album.

I'm happy to own this one, but it definitely could use more tracks from Off the Ground. At least Biker Like an Icon, one of my favorites, made the list. Paul always plays it safe by focusing the attention on the huge hits, which is great for fans actually at the the concert, but really redundant as an album or CD meant to capture what Paul was up to at the time. And so inevitably, these live releases become waypoint markers in the ever-changing contours of Paul's vocal cords, drawing attention to the one thing he probably doesn't want attention drawn to.

The album cover is the best of all his live albums.

Darn...missed it. I wanted to ask if there is ever a comprehensive "Paul Is Live" version with bonus tracks that were only on the video, etc?......Aren't the live tracks from "Tripping the Live fantastic" all over the place? Via B-sides and the alternate "Highlights" release?

Not sure if there is an official Paul Is Live version with bonus tracks. Now "unofficial"--that may be a different story. ;)

I think the sound quality is great. He should have left off all the repeats from TLF and put on the missing songs

Those were the days. I prefer the album to Tripping, because his voice is a lot better. He over-rehearsed for the '89 tour and wrecked his voice to an extent. He learned his lesson for the following tour and so it is more enjoyable to listen to.

I don't listen to this one or Tripping very often. Paul's voice sounded weak and croaky on both releases. Back in the USA is much better sounding and Paul's voice sounds great. Has anybody else noticed that Paul's voice sounded better from 1997 to 2008 than it did from 1989 to 1993? I wonder how he did that.

actually his voice sounds pretty strong on "Paul Is Live" you should give it another listen - "Tripping" was the result of 1.) not touring for 10 years and 2.) putting back to back shows all over the country singing songs that were real screamers

the late 80s are for me the worst sounding era while early 80s sounded really fresh and modern. So I also dislike how these two live albums sound (the drum sound) but Tripping The Live Fantastic especially. That album is nearly forgotten in my generation I can say, while Paul is live at least has an recognizable cover and a new hit (Hope Of Deliverance), that became one of Pauls ten best known solo songs on streaming.

Wings Over America is 100 times better than all of Paul’s subsequent live albums. Paul is Live ….meh

You guys have a good show but I wish Ken Michaels would shorten his Beatles news segment! Going on an on about every little thing gets boring! Seems like he talks about every person who has ever known the Beatles for 20 minutes Good show but that segment could be shorter!!
