Grand St Bernard is a great place! For 1000 years the door is open to travellers and pilgrims - literally (in the actual sense of "literally"). For the door to the hospice does not even have a keyhole to lock it. The monastery is also the place where the St. Bernard dogs were bred and thus got their name - though their current shape and size is more recent.
