I'm not clear on how the weights were assigned across the top row. I understand they came from the step 3 but am not following the math that established them?. Eg. LTS .60, Time .30, Cost .10 Can you please clarify?

Very clear and logical way to structure a model for RDM. It would be very nice if you can make a video with asset allocation RDM, specially to see the financial decision criteria that would apply to it. Thanks.

Very interesting lesson. I would like to know how to do rate the long term criteria and denote it as 60 in the last slide?

How do you get the weights in step 5, (.60), (.30), and (.10), from step three?
@Alanisbusinessacademy

Marly s Hello there. I established them arbitrarily based on how important each attribute was to my decision making. In the prior video I established a rank of them in step 3, but the percentages are simply based on the importance of each attribute. Hope this helps.

I understand the mechanics of what you explained, however could you please explain how you arrived at the particular numbers, e.g. "1.20", "2.40" - (I know it is from step 3 and the ranking, etc, but not quite understanding the numbers above) Thank you!

Natalie J Gardiner To obtain those figures I multiplied what I ranked the alternative (1 for bigger home) by the percentage that I gave the criteria (.60 for long-term solution). Hope this clarifies a bit. Thanks for watching.

@@Alanisbusinessacademywhy is the lower score the preferred option? Shouldn't more storage be the preferred option sense it received a higher score?

don`t understand: how to get the weight of criteria from comparisons? why the best solution - with a lower number, but not with a bigger?
@Alanisbusinessacademy
@Alanisbusinessacademy 11 жыл бұрын
You can establish your own weights based upon what is important to you. I simply established weights based upon my evaluation of the criteria in the previous steps. As far as determining the best solution, since we use a rank order method (1-4) and establish 1 as the best solution in the category and four the worst solution in the category the lower result is preferred. Otherwise you would select the solution that was ranked poorly in each category, or at least a majority of the categories. Hope this clarifies. Thanks for the question.

The smallest number is the best decision. Why?
@Alanisbusinessacademy
@Alanisbusinessacademy 9 жыл бұрын
Carla Eastman That's because #1 is our preferred option. By adding the rank of each option you want the number to be lower as it reflects the preferred decision. Likewise an option that ranks 3 in a certain category represents a less desirable option. Hope this helps to clarify.
