People upset at the extreme wealth disparity in this country, and the systems and policies from both parties that keep it that way, don’t want everyone to be poor. That’s either an extreme misunderstanding of the situation or a disingenuous argument.
@trashtocashpodcastАй бұрын
Systems designed to take money from producers by punishing them through excessive taxation in order to redistribute it to those that don't have as much does nothing to but impoverish more people and make politicians more powerful. It's the governments job to protect Liberty and to provide for the common good. That does not give them to right to legalize theft in the name of fixing disparity.
@BukowskiQuotesАй бұрын
@@trashtocashpodcastoh lord. I hope you don’t use any public services if you’re so opposed to taxes. Don’t use the fire department, police, public roads, etc. What a joke of a response that doesn’t even deal with what I actually said. Give me a break. We don't have anywhere near excessive taxation, and we had a lower percentage of people in poverty when the upper tax rate was higher.

Very true what you said about Rod and Mike. I had the pleasure of meeting Rod at dinner with Mike & Sam a few weeks ago. Honestly they are some of the biggest hearted people I have ever met. I learned a lot from Rod just in that short time. I really enjoyed the evening. Dave… I missed buying the comic collection you were selling. I should have known and just paid the full price. I sent an offer and note that I was hoping the offer made up for shipping since I am in the same state. I don’t think you read it. LOL. Anyway, I wasn’t that upset. 😂 Great episode guys. Thanks for the laughs.

Kevin....waaaaaay out of touch with the way insurance screws middle class and poorer folks who lose everything to flood especially in the southeast. I have family that went through Katrina, Andrew and we went through Sandy up here in the northeast. Water is THE WORST and we are priced out of flood insurance even on the rare occasion it is offered. My thoughts are with those hurting right now.

I’m well aware. It was a rhetorical question followed by two pieces of sarcasm. If you watch it again I think you will pick up on both. Many forms of insurance have become little more than a scam and it’s getting worse especially with government mandated insurance. I have said it multiple times on multiple videos. I was playing off of prior statements that some may not have heard before.

It's crazy cause Kevin was alive when the government kept this stuff in check was that communism? No but thanks to capitalism insurance banks gas and health all do what they want and price how they want. Further more he was here when yes capitalism and "free market" sent all our jobs overseas and left us in the situation we are in today. Thankfully more people do not think like him and are looking for change.

Hey I’m a ShopCommons fan girl so ignore me Dave 😅 but as a heavy whatnotter we LOVE SC. I can move the stuff that I seem to never get around to selling on eBay allowing me more time to focus on WN. We’re hopeful that we can have our eBay stores down to less than 100 items (and all pretty specialized stuff) 6 months down the road-SC has been a huge catalyst in that-and we’ve barely even scratched the surface of what we plan to do with it.

There will always be just a little bit of scum when it comes to resellers profiting from others lack of knowledge, mistakes or misses. It's more of an ethical issue, so I get it. I buy and resell too and if I can find a treasure or a profitable item I'm flipping it too. But my success is not based on taking advantage of others, unfortunately some resellers survive that way.

@RickInMaryland2 ай бұрын
"Scalper" is a pejorative term. A reseller is someone who buys something for the sole purpose of selling it to others. Walmart and Target are technically resellers. Personally, I don't care if someone calls me a scalper. If I see something hanging on a peg at Target that costs $1.18 and I know is selling for $85 on eBay, I'm buying it. I even participate in hobbies where identifying and complaining about scalpers is one of the main tenets of the hobby. lol

Sorry Dave your idea of quality life contains zero effect put forward by you and life doesn't work that way. You would think Kevins work ethic would wear off even a tiny bit on you but I guess not.
