Now that you have feasted on the main course, how about some dessert?
The goal of Elvis: Behind the Image THE SERIES, is to share bite-sized vignettes of unique, little-known, Elvis adventures that focus on true life accounts in the life and career of the man BEHIND the legend.
This video series is - by design - comprehensive yet more concise than typical documentary productions; It is adapted in this venue for today’s fast-paced, time-restricted world, but also geared towards Elvis fans who share our passion for the factual history of intriguing events that have yet to be fully explored in fine detail.
For this reason, many fascinating components of certain episodes lead down a separate rabbit hole that cannot be fully explored without breaking the stride of the intended focus of the episode.
Sometimes those rabbit holes lead to fascinating stories in and of themselves, and may warrant a separate future episode… but many are merely fun, short tidbits that inquiring minds like ours want to know. They are all short, supporting sidebar material - intended as a bonus addendum to the full story showcased on the official ELVIS: BEHIND THE IMAGE KZbin channel and provided for the more serious or curious fan - for your viewing pleasure. Consider them FREE, Elvis flavored after-dinner mints ...with our compliments!

For those of you who may be curious as to why the little girl from Monroe DIDN'T end up selling the cross back in 1989 - it's because the person representing her was taking offers as they came in, and by the time an acceptable offer came, the crisis in the family had passed and she decided to keep her treasure, as she never really wanted to part with it to begin with. The rest on how I obtained it and why she decided to let it go is in the video. enjoy! ... and stay tuned for EPISODE 3.... COMING VERY SOON! Hello from England. The day Elvis died is etched in my mind as it was 2 days before my birthday. The day of his funeral was my birthday 18th August. I was 12. I had never cried for any non family member but i cried buckets when we learnt he had died. Everyone in England was so shocked. I know each year we celebrate his life in some way but last Monday 16th i felt very emotional. I said to myself why so? Perhaps it is because you think where has the time gone -44 years We saw on TV his funeral and all those cars. We can only be happy and sad at the same time watching all this. I am sure there is much more material that will be released in time. Can you imagine anything like this happening today. I don't think so. There is no one in the entertainment world today that i would spend even £10 on.

My Mom had me late in life in 1988 she was 40 years old. She gave birth to me when she had been told for 19 years SHE COULD never have children. Anyways my Mom passed away in 2020 and she one of the biggest gifts she passed on to me was her love and collection of music. From the Moody Blues to Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Jim Morrison, Fleetsood Mac, The Dead, Gladys Knight, The Supremes, Tina Turner, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, Bob Dylan and countless others but their was ONE who stayed in her heart forever and that was Elvis Presley! She told me stories of her playing her 45’s of Elvis until they literally melted. I was always told what a kind, GENUINE, humble man he was…. Hard to believe with all his fame and fortune! He was the ORIGINAL TRIPLE THREAT! Sang, Danced and was a talented actor. I must thank you for making these videos. After loosing my Mom last year who was my best friend, a single Mother who worked 3 jobs to provide for me and she was my #1 role model and hero… these videos are helping me heal, helping me remember all the mornings we would put Elvis on and dance together! She loved him so much I practiced in the mirror for hours until I got his famous lip curl down! 🤣🙏🏻❤️👍… so thank you for helping me get through the loss of my Mom& thank you Elvis for bringing me music that I can play anytime to remind me of all the great times mom and I shared! 👏 Loved this story. 💖 I had never heard of it. His humility & talent were- ARE unmatched. Elvis was named Artist of the Century but his generosity, kindness, & his manners are what separated him from ANY other artist. He truly loved his fans. I was fortunate enough to see him in LV as a young girl & got a scarf which I value to this day. He always reminded his fans that Jesus Christ is the King. I tell my kids that in 100 years people will still enjoy his music. I can't think of any other artist you can say that about!

I was at this concert in Monroe with my family. We sat to the right of the stage in the upper level with a clear view of Elvis. I saw it happen, I saw the woman snatch the scarf away from the little girl. It shocked us all, I remember the instant anger I felt towards the woman. All of the sudden that anger turned into pure joy in knowing God takes care of the children. Elvis was God’s Angel at that moment to right the wrong. I saw him give her the necklace without missing a beat! The KING!

People like to use the word - “wow”- but you have redefined the expression for Elvis fans. The pendant story documentary is wonderfully obscure and the way you present it makes past time dissolve away, makes past present, which is key in the genre. Just watch any Ken Burns doc! I know what I’m talking about. I work in the industry, mostly as a writer. I’ve had an Elvis tribute channel presence on YT for 12 years and nobody comes close to you in terms of detailed, effective storytelling. You are the best documentarian.

And that's one of the reasons why I'm a Elvis fan not just for the music. But how great this man was has a Human Being. Thanks for the story it's was truly Awesome. The kid Elvis gave the Cape and belt to. Later sold them to buy a car and was later killed in a car accident.

I can relate to this in a way, when it comes to needing cash and having to sell a treasured souvenir. I was lucky enough to get a scarf from Elvis at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in1976. I held on to that scarf for 25 years. By then I had remarried and we had bought a house. Over the years, things started wearing out, as they do, and we were struggling to pay for a new hot water service and the roof gutter which was rusting away. My credit card had reached its limit and although we both worked full time, we just couldn't make ends meet. An auction company in our city was having an Elvis auction on the 25th anniversary of his death, so I packed up the scarf and my collection of books and records (not many) and headed for the auction. The books and other things sold quickly because they weren't expensive, but the auctioneer held the scarf until last. When he announced it there was huge excitement in the room - not many Elvis scarves in Australia! The bidding started at $500 and quickly climbed, and finally stopped at $3000, an enormous amount of money at that time. The lady who won it later told me she maxxed out her credit card and I thanked her for paying mine off! So, I was forever grateful to Elvis for indirectly saving my husband and me from bankruptcy 😊

Elvis was the most humble, the most beautiful ( yes he was beautiful ) and the best singer that ever walked the face of the earth. 100's of yrs. from now people will still be listening to Elvis. God knew what Elvis would be to the world and he knew nobody will ever come close to Elvis and that's why he made him simply the best.God also knew there could only be one..just one, Elvis. Just call me one of his biggest fans in South Carolina U.S.A.

I believe that "was" his purpose in life...And it was mostly achieved through his beautiful voice and humble soul....His talent was the means in which he could help people, bring them together and make them happy..He was nearly perfect overall...But he was not "perfect" and still had "free will" because he was human being. That's how God planned to take him back so early in his life...through his ( Elvis's ) "free will" ....Just like his mother, Elvis was not meant to be here with us long....Just thankful he was during my lifetime...

Such a beautiful story of a true life event, and how God touched so many with the Cross representative of the sacrifice made there by God, and the promise of salvation through Grace. Blessings are for believers, while miracles are for the unbelievers. This story is truly both a blessing and a miracle. In the name of Jesus Christ the LORD the King of kings, and the LORD of lords. And, so it is then now and to come. Be Blessed! Thank you Elvis for hearing the call of your King, for many have been blessed by it then now and to come.

This was an awesome video to watch!! I've heard this story over a thousand times from my mom. The tell of the little girl that got given a necklace by Elvis BUT that's not really what stands out in my mind about the story. What I remember most about it is that my mom was so mad and upset because she was told she could NOT go to the concert in Monroe. Why you ask ?? Well that would be because of me. My mom had been to the doctor (sometime in late February of 1974) for a check up. And while at the doctor she told him about having the tickets to attend Elvis's concert on March 8th 1974. He quickly to her NO ma'am I don't think so !! There is NO way you can go to that concert. You see mom was about to bust at almost 9 months pregnant with ME !! I was born March 18,1974 just 10 days after Elvis's concert. So I got all the blame as to why my mom could not attend Elvis's concert. So that's what I remember most about hearing the story of Elvis and his last concert in Monroe. 💜💜💜 I would anything to hear my mom tell it another thousand times. RIP mom love and miss you always💗
