My husband has HS , probably stage 3, and our insurance makes him wait months for the action he needs. They just dont get it.

Went to a dermatologist and they gave him cream. It was useless. He has to wait 3 months because of our Medicare to go in a different dirction.

Unfortunately this is not uncommon to have to wait an average of 3 months in order to move to the next treatment option. Are you seeing an HS expert? I would highly recommend checking out the derm list on our site!

@hsconnectorg ok. I'll do that. I'm not sure if they are experts or not.

We just visited the Dermatologist in Elkins WV. And they are going to give him Humira Injections for his HS. What our primary care Dr says is HS on his buttocks the Dermotologist called it a pressure sores and another Dr said it was a Pilonidal Cyst. Has humira treatments helped others. My husbands is under the arms, buttocks, groin area', under belly and spreading.

University of WV is about 2 hrs away from us. Would their treatment be different than the local Dermatologist.

@@marlenepingley2669 Pilonidal cysts are like cousins of HS, closely linked. Humira may help with his HS and pilonidal cyst. Humira has helped others, but if it doesn't work, there are 2 new biologics that have better outcomes, Cosentyx and Bimzelx. Best of luck to him on his journey and thank you for supporting him! We're starting a men''s support group if he's interested in joining!
