The reason you didn't take the pawn on d5 with your queen on the 7th move is because you were afraid of the fork 7... c6. However, you can get away with it by playing 8. Nd6+; then, after your opponent is forced to capture the knight, you can recapture with your queen.

Thank you for that. I think deep down I had an idea that I could get away with it as the play looked suspicious somehow but you're right I didn't spend the time to calculate and simply looked at c6.

@ yea i reached 1500 in 7 months of playing chess. I think i am way quicker than most of players and i am just 16 yrs old. I am hoping to be the best player of my country one day cause no one has ever achieved gm title from my country.well a stupid dream to pursue but i got some hope

Says he plays poorly.. game rank - 1900. Why are chess KZbinrs exaggertingly humble, it almost comes off as disingenuous. I appreciate you have standards but please also be realistic.

I can appreciate that comment. I think the thing that becomes apparent in Chess for me is that there are some real deep levels to it. You learn more and realize how little you understand. It's also true that we probably forget how far we've come and so in some ways I always feel like a beginner when objectively I could say that I'm likely in the intermediate space. Thanks for watching.
