I started my first pair of Vanilla socks from your knit along Vanilla sock tutorial in late 2022 around November, I kinda stumbled on it one day then forgot all about it. I Started working on it again in 2022 around Christmas time. I finished my first pair of socks in the late winter of 2023 really close to early Spring. I got more excited about all the new yarns than actually finishing my socks. So after hunting around for different sock yarn and learning more about the whole process. I finally understood what it is that makes sock making so fun. It was a process because I wasn’t focusing on the sock making. So here I was with several new sock yarns and only one pair finished. I think I overwhelmed myself. So after watching a few more of your videos I got inspired to knit more. I actually finished 5 pairs total and maybe 3 more pairs will be finished by the end of January 2024. So my goal for this year is to make more socks. Now that I really got a grasp I think my sock making adventure will be amazing. I had so much fun watching your Christmas videos they make everything Merry and Bright. I hope to make several new pairs this year. I have to say I also crochet, sew, draw and paint so doing socks is my newest challenge. Thank you Kayla! Crazy Sock Lady!!

Happy New Year Kay. I have been following you for nearly a year now after seeing your video by accident while looking into how to knit socks as a lady at craft group was knitting them and I thought I could try it too. She was using four needles which looked hard and confusing to me so when I saw your magic loop method I thought I would try it and watched your video on how to knit vanilla socks on magic loop. I now love it. It did take me quite a few months after January last year to pick up the knitting of socks again as I was discouraged due to having ladders but then realised the more rows I knitted the less the ladder was so obvious and so I got excited and finally finished my first pair and now I have nearly finished my 5th pair of socks. I am gifting a pair to a friend next week for her birthday. Though It is summer here she feels the cold and anything handmade she loves as she loves sewing all her own clothes and also making beautiful quilts. I have gotten back into sewing kids clothes after not making them for about 20 years as my kids grew up. Now I have a grand son who is turning 3 soon so am excited to have finished sewing my first button up collared shirt. It is space printed fabric and I know he will love it. In between making more shirts for him I will be knitting more socks. Thanks for the inspiration. I love seeing the yarn you are choosing to knit more socks. Hope this year goes well for you and your family.

I'm recovering from foot surgery and have had the strangest dreams about yarn involving cozy memory and jelly roll blankets. 😅 I know it's related to the guilt I feel about my stash which grew exponentially this last year. I have got a few second socks to finish and a sweater sleeve to wrap up before I will allow myself to start my advent Sweet Shop blanket. I've only been knitting 3 years, but I'm ready to diminish my yarn inventory (hence the dreams) in 2024. You have been very influential to me this last year of my knitting. I've really enjoyed socks and blankets, and I now have your vanilla socks pattern memorized. I only completed 6 or 7 pairs of socks since the summer, but until July I had only done 1 other pair previously, so I'm on a roll. Thank you, Kay(la) for all of your work. Have a fantastic weekend!

Enjoyed Vlogmas when I caught it. Spent Christmas with my darling daughter in hospital hospice. She'd been on at home hospice for 10 or so months, but took a bsd turn on the 21. We all enjoyed Christmas with her very much knowing it was her last. She passed on to heaven on New Year's Eve morning in her hubby's arms and two children bedside. It's been very hard. Oh my goodness, I feel like a knitting slacker after hearing all you got done. 2023 was a slow year for me knitting for some reason, don't know why! I have started the year with some new projects...2 KALs with 2 Ravelry friends and a scrappy sock that I fell in love with when I knit a pair for my oldest grandson's GF. 12 different scraps and I let a 12 sided dice and a 6 sided dice tell me what colors and how many rows to knit. I saw the idea on Instagram and had to try it. I'm hooked! Doing your vanilla sock pattern on DPNs-2 sets so I can knit both socks at the same time. A group I'm a member of on Ravelry started a KAL for those and we're having so much fun! Those are definitely bringing me lots of joy.

I like the grams in grams out. If I forget to add the yarn used in a project I can just weigh it. Plus, I tend to loose the tags/bands from yarn I am working with. My husband has 3D printed several lazy Susan style yarn holders. So, I usually pull from the outside. With 4 kids in 3 schools I do a lot of car knitting. Love the look of the Queensland Cotton.
