I always enjoy your podcasts. Never feel you have to apologise or edit genuine emotions. I shed a few tears in sympathy as I had been feeling much the same (for different reasons as I am a good bit older) So glad you are feeling better.

Awesome recap of your visit to the UK and your authenticity! Life is life and it's so great to see it expressed in such a genuine way. Menopause is a reality and talking about it is important. I'm so glad you were able to strengthen your connections with so many knitting/fibre friends!

Such a lovely video. So nice to see a genuine person showing up. I'm glad you are feeling better and are finding pockets of joy in your life. Show yourself the kindness you give to others. I was wondering why 19 minis and it blew me away the reason. What a wonderful thing for the organisers to think of, and a beautiful memory for you as participants. Thankyou xx

As you said December is "your time". ❤❤

So glad to hear that your trip has contributed to a better feeling of wellbeing. There is nothing like the smells and tastes of childhood to make you feel better. I am very lucky that I still live in the town where I was born about 25 miles north of London. It has changed over the 78 years of my life but it is still home. The yarn that you dyed is a gorgeous colour and I think the 19 minis are a delight. Love the socks. Looking forward to the new pattern. 🇬🇧

Thank you Nancy, this is another wonderful podcast of yours. I will add my vote for vlogmas, whether you do it daily or group a few days together it is perfect for me. And I love the idea of December being dedicated to selfish knitting, however I did too much selfish knitting during the year so I am trying to power through my Christmas knits. I even reduced the number of Christmas knits to 4 with one that can be delivered post Christmas, and I have two half finished (Maxine hot water bottle cover + long standing Stocking WIP - Arne and Carlos 2023). The other two will get cast on this weekend, one is a mini stuffed chicken and the other are saltwater trigger mitts in aran weight Briggs and Little. And no worries re: moods, we all have mental health and all women have or have had hormonal shifts....keep sharing as many of us can relate to your experiences. Happy knitting.

That was a great episode. I was able to enjoy throughout the day. Nancy never apologize for being real. Sometimes by showing your weakness it helps others. I myself suffer from depression and anxiety. And without medication I’m not sure I would be here. Anyway great big Hugs to you. You certainly were able to hide what you were going through but never feel like you have to. Hugs again

Don’t ever apologize for showing and sharing your feelings. Lovely to hear your travel and retreat memories. Totally get your nostalgia for UK as I'm a Brit living in California. Always a treat to go shopping in Tescos of Sainsburys, meals in pubs, fish and chips and a Chinese takeaway. I'd love to visit Ironbridge again, Shropshire is one of my favourite counties. Love Kelly's yarn, I was lucky to get some for Christmas last year, savouring it and waiting for the perfect project of course! Thanks for the episode. Jane

Hi Nancy, thank you for another wonderful episode. I'm always so happy to see a new one pop up! Thank you for sharing, not only your gorgeous knitting, designs & spinning, but for also letting us feel like we're old friends sharing news and life's ups and downs. I can totally relate to what you've described re. menopause and all the fun ways it derails us, and I'm so happy you're finding a more comfortable balance these days to help with that - that's huge, I know! :-) This knitting community is such a joy and helps me manage all 'the feels' as my kids call it. Thanks for being such a big part of that! So happy you got to go on that trip - Cheers!

Hi Nancy, the cool winter colours like the cerise of your Felix sweater suits you the best. I enjoyed your England trip volg and last year's Vlogmas. Please do another Vlogmas, don't worry about new content - your advent yarns, etc will be new :D. Imagine you are a South African traveller to England and the exchange rate is 1:23 - now that sucks. However, if you're a Canadian and you travel to South Africa, you can buy gorgoues hand-dyed yarns at 1:13 in your favour.

Dear knitting friend, i totally been through all you are going through now. NO apologies needed. I so enjoy your earnest & gracious spirit. I did enjoy your vlogmas last year. Opening the boxes was fun. The trips were interesting too. Even the grand puppy was nice. Loved seeing your job spot. Just remember its your vlogmas it doesn't have to be daily. I have a spinning question. Bit of a newby here. When setting the twist, will it shrink in the process. And if so is it better to rehank afterwards to obtain a more accurate yardage? Lovely hand dyed yarn. Do you think you will dye at home? That would be interesting to watch.
@knitsiphappy16 сағат бұрын
That is so kind of you to say 🥰 I will do vlogmas again this year and I'm excited about that 🎄 So for spinning. I find that it usually plumps up a lot when you wash and set the twist, so I only weigh and measure the yardage after washing. It definitely changes the yardage and wraps per inch measurements. I can't see dyeing yarn at home. It was fun at the retreat because we didn't have to do the hard work, just the fun bit🤓 Happy knitting and I'll "see" you soon

Your new design blue and white. Do you think that would work with self stripping yarn and a coordinating colour?? I am always looking for new ways to use self stripping yarn
@knitsiphappy16 сағат бұрын
That could be really fun Sue! The only thing is that the self striping yarn probably won't have the correct number of rounds, so the colour changes won't be lined up to the elongated stitches. If you use a contrasting for the opposite stripes and they will be consistent and let the stripy yarn got wild!!
