Speedy recovery to your son on the wisdom teeth. It's not pleasant but nor terrible. And he'll feel so much better in the long run. You got me convinced I need a coziest memory blanket now!!

Love the guitar pick drawstring project bag. Drawstring are my favorite for project bags. Nothing (zippers, etc) for the yarn to get caught on. My dad is a dentist. Hopefully you won't have to deal with dry socket, but if it is a worry, dry tea bags (black tea) are great. Just put the tea bag right on the extraction sight. Hopefully that won't be an issue. I'm sure the oral surgeon will tell you, but no drinking from straws for a few days after the extractions are done.

Your respect for your kids is so sweet. We miss them, but it's understandable. It's so odd to think they are both in high school. I started watching your podcast when Wyatt was a small child. Good luck with the wisdom teeth. Austin'll be fine and healed up in no time. That severe storm thing was a lot of bluster, wasn't it. The University I work at closed at 2:15 and they rarely close for anything. In 25 years, it's been closed about 10 times. I came home to find my dog laying by the back door. He's afraid of storms, so he would be in his hidey place if there was a storm. Glad to hear Piper is learning. Puppies are adorable, but it takes a while for them to get used to their home. Have you seen Hue Loco's new Geode collection? What a great pastel collection. It's so beautiful!

Eclipse cancelled in Texas. 😂. It’s supposed to be cloudy in NE Texas where I am. I heard the county park on the lake has had a lot of cancellation. Maybe we will escape the madness. Enjoy it where you are.

Hey Kay, @crazysocklady I totally respect you going back to basics, with the no vlogging, and relaxing the summer sock camp, time is so so precious! If something becomes a chore or interrupts family life, or you just don’t enjoy something any more, stop doing it! I lost my Mom 2 years ago she was only early 60s, believe me there is no better wake up call to just how precious time it! 💜 Have you thought of posting your instagram story’s to KZbin shorts aswel, just for people who don’t have instagram, but follow you on here and still want to catch up on your life snippets and doggy updates? Just an idea. Sending love to you and yours, and snuggles to all 3 of those puppies 💜💜💙 xxxx

Don't feel too bad about missing the two hour delay email. True story... when my daughter was in kindergarten, there was no school for her on the day of teacher conferences. All the other kids had school so I sent her on the bus too. I didn't know anything was wrong until her teacher called to ask why she came to school. She was waiting for us in the office when my husband picked her up - and she was NOT happy.😅

I'm currently working on my Coziest Memory blanket, and I started like you, with the 4 squares in the middle each pointing outward diagonally. I then knit the bottom row of squares going outward ad wide as I wanted the blanket to be. (I really dislike casting on, would much rather just pick up stitches). NOW I'm able to just go outward to the right and to the left with the squares, picking up all the stitches. I like to have things a little bit organized, less thinking required in the moment when I just want to knit.

We are also in the path of totality, and yesterday I found out I could work from home on Monday! Totality with the eclipse a few years ago was around 30 minutes south of here and traffic was NuTs so I can only imagine what it will be like Monday (and this weekend)… staying comfy at home!! I appreciate your respect for family, that is admirable. All of your projects are gorgeous! You inspire me! And the 9” circulars! Since I knit mostly shorties (the request of the people I’m making them for) I’ve started knitting the cuff and heel on magic loop then knitting the foot with the 9” circulars after picking up gusset stitches. It makes the foot go faster without the fiddly bit on the short socks. Hope everything went well with the wisdom teeth! Have an awesome weekend ❤

Hi Kayla. I hope your son recovers well from wisdom teeth removal. Your finished christmas socks look great That pattern is perfect for stripes. I haven't done stripes on socks yet but hope to one day. I am really enjoying the pop of collar at the cuff and the heel and toe being different to the main body of the sock. I have to tell you, after seeing the Serene Socks last episode, I hunted the pattern down and bought a copy. Yours are so pretty-as are all of your projects. The Jelly Roll blanket looks so snuggly. It's such a good feeling to empty off needles. I'm trying my best to do that now before casting on anything new and I've gotta tell ya, it's hard! I hope everything went well with Austin having his wisdom teeth out. It's good that he has a good attitude about it going in. That's a plus for sure. totally fair enough to take a break from daily vlogs if others in the house aren't keen on them. you are inspiring me to cast on my first pair of DK socks. i usually do fingering weight because it doesn't get that cold in winter in australia but i think a couple of pairs for the depth of winter to wear with boots will be nice.

My daughter is in NJ they lost power during the day Wednesday and are still waiting for it to come back on ! The house is down to 55 and the generator is struggling with the cold outside, so miserable. Hope the wisdom teeth went ok, it is not something we do in the UK unless they cause issues like my husband's impacted ones. Now Fri 5th just had a full on earthquake to😮

Hope the dentist trip was straightforward and uneventful. That’s so interesting about pineapple possibly reducing inflammation. I was lucky, only had the bottom two wisdom teeth, and they popped right out. Felt like a fraud for taking the afternoon off work. Whereas my sister had four impacted wisdom teeth AND was allergic to local anaesthetic. Beautiful socks and gorgeous yarn as ever. Thank you for all the work you put into your episodes each week.

I'm between Toronto and Niagara Falls. It's the same here with the eclipse. A 35 min highway drive is predicting 4 to 6 hrs. Hotels in Niagara Falls are in the thousands. They moved the March pd day at school, to Monday since it happens at dismissal. We are not going anywhere as well.

I’m also in southern Ontario and many boards have chosen a PD Day or learn from home to keep the students safe. I heard that Niagara Falls has declared a state of emergency to have the necessary resources to handle the expected crowds. Sounds like a great idea to stay safely at home.

Hope Austin's wisdom tooth removal went well. Oral surgery can go so many ways so the office staff are super busy scheduling and re-scheduling. Glad your office is keeping you up to date on their progress. Not all are that courteous.
