My struggle... well one of them... is knowing "all that maters is eternity"... and being concerned about what happens now that matters..

Does this happen to you all a lot....like everyday? So I am studying this morning and I stop at Mark 4:9 but I need to finish the entire chapter which I will get to later in the day. I am listening to this podcast while I cook dinner and you literally talk about the next two verses of Mark so I see them in a different way than I would have without listening to this podcast. And my next thought is....wait didn't Jonah say the same thing to God. So down the rabbit hole I go tonight to find out, compare, contrast. SOOOO in love with learning more about God and I love when He reveals and relays His message through His Word! There are no coincidences! God Bless!!!

TLC sharing about Matt Chandler’s advice to her concerning her loved ones where she longs for them to know the Lord, the comfort she found in it - but what if her loved ones aren’t elect (in the Calvinist’s systematic)? Is it comforting to know said loved ones had no chance of repenting and coming to the Lord?
@joshcarz Жыл бұрын
I agree. They always avoid it by deflecting to "what if they are elect" I'm soo glad God is not a respecter of persons. It's sad to see she was duped by calvinistic doctrine. There are so many better ways to understand those scriptures mentioned.

You're spot on. This reality used to kill me when I was a Calvinist.

@@bridgetgolubinskipraise the Lord for bringing you out of Calvinism!!! God is so much MORE sovereign, gracious, powerful, wonderful, and loving when I realized Calvinism is not what Paul is teaching in these texts at all. Praise the Lord!! I pray people keep digging as good Bereans and come to see Truth in these areas. God bless you!

@@elaineauo Thank you! I agree with you so much. I was a Calvinist for 7 years, but realized the truth a little over a year ago! My mental health and relationship with God is totally different now. God truly is more sovereign and loving than what I thought He was

Hi everyone from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic! What really makes me love God much more is His Word because every time I read it, He really talks to me and it's such a warm comfort from Him to me.

One of my most precious lessons I’ve learned about Bible reading came from Tara Leigh and also, granger smith does this: pray and ask for guidance BEFORE reading the Bible! Also, being diligent about reading the word daily is another lesson lived out through both TLC and granger smith, too. I heard John piper say once “beat a path to the word daily, and when times get dark, you’ll be able to find your way in the dark” because the path has been beat, daily, intentionally, diligently, purposely, and thoughtfully. Being disciplined about daily Bible reading isn’t easy. Especially when (like you guys spoke about within the first fifteen minutes here) what you’re reading seems boring, or hard to understand. But what I’ve learned is that by beating a path daily, my future self in the middle of trails or loss or grief, will be glad I did it. 📖🤍

Oh, my 🌟 stars! I'm 10 minutes in and this is my favorite interview with Tara Leigh ever. I've listened to many interviews with her, and I'm on my second trip through Bible Recap. I've also read a couple of books she wrote that were kinda like her journals. I'm so glad KZbin suggested your podcasts. Thank you for a fabulous interview!

Wow, this is one of my favorite episodes you guys have done. I love the real talk here avout wrestling with hard things in Scripture and hard things in life and how to make sense of it. Also I'm currently reading through the Bible Recap with her (about 80 days behind but still going strong!) love this so much! Thanks for all you guys do in this BeSo ministry. Also super pumped about Maddie being on here. I found out about her through Views from the Porch and it's so cool to see her here

Instantly in love with her. Mainstream people and pastors will NEVER talk about the fact that there are many people who are not destined for salvation. I honestly can't believe they kept some of this in. I felt the whole room holding their breath when she said, "If I spoke plainly, the Pharasiees would repent and be saved." John 3:16 is heavily taken out of context daily. To know Jesus and to be saved are not the same thing! God bless her for sharing true. Christianity!

And Jesus would never have been crucified which was God’s plan. So Him speaking in parables at that time served a purpose to that end, not that God doesn’t offer salvation freely to all by His grace to all who would believe. “None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, because if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:8

Could it be, for many people, their love for God is fear driven, because of the potential of his wraith and judgement. And if so, is that really love. Many who have been in abusive relationships would say absolutely not, not love here.😢
