Honestly the period bit was hilarious. Picturing Aleena waking up Noel in a robe with candles and red lighting, saying “it has begun” had me dying lmfao
@RealElongatedMuskrat2 жыл бұрын
the period bit was pretty accurate and hilarious. An important note is that Noel was able to joke about how shitty it is whilst not being dismissive of the experience. I think generally, we find period jokes annoying because they tend to be used in context of labeling any grievance a woman has as 'PMSing.' Often men can get angry or passionate about something they're ranting about, but when women do it, they're met with "are you on your period!? Oooo!" Period jokes tend to centre around that and it's annoying. But jokes about the actual experience of it and how chaotic it can be is totally fine and can be very funny.

@mariya_tortilla2 жыл бұрын

@Jokaanan2 жыл бұрын
That's not true, actually the opposite is true! Women's testosterone increases during ovulation, which is the point at which women are most fertile. The testosterone spike typically makes women feel good and behave in a more extroverted way.
@Jokaanan2 жыл бұрын
Progesterone is the hormone that causes PMS (which is feeling depressed 1-2 weeks before your period, not during it!). Check out the article "Your brain on PMS is like your brain on alcohol and depressants" to learn more. The reason you feel bad *during* your period is physical discomfort caused by prostaglandins. They cause cramps, inflammation, and GI discomfort. Prostaglandins are not hormones; they're signaling lipids, the same type of thing as endocannabinoids. So you're not hormonal - you're in a bad mood because you're suffering from physical pain.
